Ok So, I'm 6 months out from my trip...and jetblue still has not posted their airfare for Feb 2009!!! Anyone else have this issue???
Who else does everyone fly with...I might have to look at other options. Which sucks because I really like JetBlue...but this is ridiculous!

While usually Jetblue does release dates up to six months prior, that's not etched in stone. SW isn't booking for that time period either. Keep your eyes open. Check on them daily. You'll be sure to see when they open the next window right here on the DIS!
I love JB as well. Just about the only time I don't fly with them is if I find a much better flight time or fare, and that seems to be most often with SW nowadays.

I'm just worried that I'm not going to get a good price... I'm also planning for 4 people...and my mom...well...even though I'm 30 years old...still nags...Does that ever stop??? :rotfl:
I'm also worried that we'll end up flying with an airline that has poor service and no flying TVs... *pout*
They have until I get back from camp. :sad2:

I noticed this on the Southwest site. It may give you some indication of when JetBlue might reveal its Feb. 09 rates as well:

We are currently accepting reservations through January 9, 2009. On August 21, 2008, we plan to open the schedule for purchase through March 6, 2009. This date is subject to change.

All I can say is good luck with finding a 'good price'. Those sure do seem to have gone by the wayside. There are some who are finding decent fares...but they are really working at it...trying various airlines, various days of travel, different times, etc.

Yeah, my experience is that you shouldn't start getting concerned about JetBlue releasing its scheduled until after 5 months prior to your flight.

I am going to WDW in February, flying from Boston. I got tired of waiting for SW and JetBlue to open the dates so decided to check out other carriers. I am very happy with what I purchased. I have direct flights both ways, $94 each way. I am flying down on AirTran and back on Delta. Both airlines check the first bag for free. AirTran, however charges you $6 to book a seat on-line, or you can choose not to pay the $6 and take what ever seat you get. Delta let me choose seats for free. Still, I am happy with the price, the fact that they are direct, and the times are good too.

I'm glad you got a price that you are happy with. But just a word of advice: keep an eye on your flights. Seriously - check them daily. Both of those airlines are notorious for changing flight times.

I, too, am impatiently waiting for JetBlue's Feb. fares.

Also, if you are near an airport serviced by Spirit you may want to sub to their newsletter. They sometimes have some very good fares, though you'll need to work to book them. Late last month, I just flew r/t Islip--Ft. Lauderdale for $81, including all taxes, fees, levies, etc.

I have a trip on Oct 18 and have not bought tickets. SW has their dates out but I think their price will come down so I'm waiting. I went at the end of June and got anxious and booked around the middle of April and it ended up going down $57. I have that credit to use but don't want to end up with another one so I'm waiting. I have some frequent flyer miles I could use as a last resort, I like to save them for longer trips

I never buy tickets until at least 3 months out and usually get a good deal.

I booked our tickets for February through American Airlines about 2 months ago. I also was checking JetBlue and they were not posting their February airfares while everyone else was so I didn't want to wait any longer. I was nervous that by the time they post the February fares, they'll be very highly priced and that I'd loose out on cheaper airfares from other airlines.

Do not get Frusteated!!

Trust me :)

I am sorry they are not out yet, but they will be the best prices when they 1st come out.

May seem frustrating. But with Oil Sliding on Friday again, we are constantly adjusting prices..... ( Its all for the good of the customer, you! )

Just rrest assure we are doing things to help you.. And Remember Alot of our prices drop, so if you see you you can get a credit!

We are not looking to Stick it to anyone. We are here for you and do our best ( despite some of th negitave comments we do get from time to time )

But like i say, please send those comments in to JB, good and bad...

Thank you for flying JB. I am here to help, and i have a whole network of crewmembers to find answers..

Bri - I know you work for JetBlue; and I am determined to book my Feb. trip with them. Any idea when those fares will be released? I was really expecting them at the six month mark.

Hi All,

Unfortuently No. I even talked to Reservations Dept. They said alot of calls have been placed by you Jbers...

They dont even knoW~~~ It has to be a secret on fares, for competition reasons.. Which i am sure is understandable :)

Usually its 6 months.. But like i said it is only for the better.

If I hear anything or they get released i will post something if some1 else has not already..

Bri

Bri - Ok, since I know you have the inside track at JB, I want to know if you can answer a question for me. I looked on the JB website for the answer and didn't find it; I'm sure I could make a phonecall but if you knew the answer, it would save me the trouble......

I have a special-needs daughter who occassionally needs oxygen. Because of that, I usually pay extra to have a tank placed at our seats for our flights. As far as I know, Delta is the only airline that will do this for me on a NS flight to Orlando. But, honestly, I have not checked out other airlines in awhile. Do you know if this is something JB will do? Again, I know I'm responsible for the cost and also have to provide a doctor's order. Any info you could provide would be appreciated.:goodvibes

Just going to throw my 2 cents in here....given the dismal economy and even more dismal state of airlines in general I am thinking that JetBlue is going to wait until the very last minute to release those spring airfares.Everything is in such unknown territory travel-wise I would expect them to be reluctant to release fares and flights until they have as much info as possible. It would be less likely to need adjustments in flights and prices, keeping all of us happier in the end. I have flights booked for Sept and although nothing has changed since we booked I would not be surprised if things change right after the end of summer travel (Labor Day).

I do not know honestly!!!

I will Call tommorrow and find out.. I never heard of a situation like that.. In our initial Training we learn few things.. Like We are a non hasmat shipping company,,

but of course there are expections!

That is a good one.. If you want to call , let me know what the cost, if any, and what else they say!

See I love learning something New EveryDay!!!

I am sorry i do not know currently, but i will call tommorrow.

* Minster.. thank you for your comment!.. I appreciate it. I like hearing people understand!! ha.. We do want all the information possible to give you the best price. It certainely will not be "Last" Minute., but later then normal...

Bri.

I am also waiting for April fares. I will ONLY fly JB and will wait, along with many others, for them to release the fares. If I remember correctly April fares for 08 were not released until mid- September. So we may have a whole month to wait!

I am surprised they are waiting to post the fares, since it would be an immediate influx of cash. ;)

If you read through the recent thread about "What happens if my airline goes out of business?" you'll see that this is not necessarily the case. Folks there pointed out that credit card companies can withhold payment until the service is rendered. That's evidently why the credit card companies can provided refunds for passengers holding tickets for service after the point in time an airline goes out of business.
