I fly JetBlue all the time. Is it perfect? Far from it. But, they are really easy to work with (usually) when there is an issue. Imybdd and I were already on the plane once, when there was a very strange noise. Figured that was not a good thing. It wasn't. We were taken off the plane and back to the gate we went. They had to get a new plane in for us. Unfortunately, there wasn't a plane available for close to 3 hrs! So, we needed up taking off just about the time we should have landed in Orlando...and I missed an event I had been looking forward to. But dd and I each got a $100 credit.
Last Dec was the absolute worst flight with JB. I was flying out of Worcester, Mass, to Orlando. 7:30am flight. They changed the flight to 8. ok.It was foggy, which is an issue for this airport. JB had just started flying there the previous month....only commercial airline at Worcester. So, we were told that they couldn't get the plane in that morning. They were going to bus us to Boston, about an hour away. Ok. But we couldn't get the buses out until just past 8.,,just in case someone hadn't gotten the message.ended up not leaving until 8:45. So, we never got to Boston until about 10:30. It was nasty traffic and the bus poked along after taking whacky back roads to the Mass Pike. The people that had chosen to drive to Boston were hugely peeved that they had been waiting so long. Got a credit for that flight too...as well as free movies. The flight home? A nightmare. We got all the way to RI..about 25 mins out of Worcester. They announced they couldn't get into Worcester, so were diverting to Boston. It was 3:30. I texted my dh to let him know we were on the ground, when we landed. He said that was impossible...they had just been told, in Worcester, that we were due in in about 10 mins!! They were never told where we were. Ok....we get off the plane, they had no idea where we were to go...to a holding area to wait for instructions or to baggage claim. We finally just went to baggage claim. We were told, at 4:15, that buses were coming for us, but not until 5-5:30, it's Friday night, raining, rush hour in Boston! It would take 2+ hrs, once they got buses! My dh still hadn't been told by JB that we weren't coming in there. When I called him, he said he would drive to alohas and get me, but that would be crazy. I took the Logan Express to Framingham, met dh 40 mins after leaving Logan and drove home...25 mins more.
My issue? If JB had told those waiting at Worcester, for the flight to land, that it was going to Boston, they could have driven to Boston in a timely fashion. But they didn't. Worcester didn't even know we were in Boston! So, either things were so crazy that they never took the time to tell Worcester workers that we weren't landing there, or they just put and out lied. Or, even worse, they had no idea where their plane was. And that's what I said in an email to JB! Into
D them that I knew the issues with Worcester...and I accepted the risks. But to not tell families were their loved ones were landing was just unforgivable...that it was all very chaotic. They tried to make it a non-issue but said they understood my issue and gave me a $50 credit. Not sure if everyone else got that credit since the flight did arrive on time...just not in Worcester.
Bit, for the most part, they do a good job handling issues. The past year has been one filled with travel issues for me, but except for that one time, JB handled things very well.
