Jet Blue just released their schedule. The flights from JFK to MCO are $448 RT. My DS-I-L wants to get them tonight....but do you think the prices will go down at all? Should we jump on this?

$448 R/T per person?!? That's insane! I just did a search on orbitz.com and you could get JFK/MCO R/T departing 12/23/02 and returning 01/02/03 for $185 with American Airlines. Or leave 12/24/04 and return 01/02/03, LGA/MCO, with Delta for $192.

Usually I look for fares through orbitz.com or travelocity.com and then book them directly with the airlines that turns up with the most favorable rate and travel dates/times (sometimes these third party sites charge a service fee).

I wouldn't purchase tickets at those prices unless they are the only airline meeting your flight time needs. The direct TV service is great (especially for the kids or to distract those with fears of flying), but to pay $200+ more for that service on a two and a half hour flight is definately NOT worth it in my book. HTH

We've flown with them twice from JFK to MCO.

We just flew JB from JFK to Orlando last week and paid around $79 pp each way (and I thought this was even a little on their high side). We had credit from when we cancelled our flights back in Sept. of last year -- we had great fares of $49 each way back then (I only saw that available for a few days and never again).

I don't think it could hurt to wait -- they tend to lower their fares and announce specials just a few months out. I don't think the fare could possibly get any higher!! One thing is that I believe they give credit if they lower their fares -- my aunt said she did this a few months back. I would call to confirm this -- but don't get the tickets while you're on the phone, it will cost you an extra $10 rt over the phone. If they would be just as happy with JB credit to use at a later date then she could go ahead and book them for peace of mind if she must travel on specific dates. Credit must be used within 12 months of credit issue for any available flight on the schedule -- so actually you must fly by apprximately 18 months from credit issuance based on when they announce their schedule.

$447 is way too much to pay for airfare between NYC & MCO. I wouldn't pay any more than $250.

I'm looking for flights for Christmas also. I've already booked the cruise. Since you live in LI, maybe you can try Southwest Airlines. They don't have their December schedule up yet, but will probably have it up in another few weeks.

There are 12 of us flying......and some live in Queens......my DB and DS-I-L love JetBlue and want to fly them to MCO. I think we're going to book the flight and hope the price goes down...We need to fly on 12/23 so we're not flexible.
Thanks for all your help!
