We currently have a ressie for Nov. 12- 19 but are thinking of changing it to Nov 5 -12 because the kids have two days off that week. Then they will only be missing 3 days of school instead of 5. How much more crowded is it that week? If its just a little more I don't mind but if it is a zoo, not sure if I want to switch.

The week of Nov. 12-19 will be quite dead. This is our favorite time to visit with many rides being total walk ons. Jersey week will be moderate crowds. As you move closer to Veteran's Day, it will be a bit more than moderate. It is still a great time to go compared to the holidays and summer crowds. But it will definitely not be empty. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

we are from jersey and went a few times when my kids were in middle school / high school during jersey week. we didnt find it crowded at all and had no problems with wait times

We went to WDW during Jersey Week in 2009. I did not think it was bad at all, especially on the weekdays.

I get the impression that the idea that Jersey week is super-crowded is a little exaggerated.

What exactly is Jersey week? Is it when the teachers have the 2 day NJEA convention in November?
What are the dates for Jersey Week this year?
I thought based on past years that the conference would be on the 3rd and 4th (first Thursday and Friday of the month).

Thank you! I'm very new to all of this!

We were there the first week of Nov. 2010 and didn't know it was Jersey Week until a server told us. You should be fine with whatever you decide. :thumbsup2

We have been during Jersey week the last two years (and we're from Indiana.) The only difference I've noticed is if you strike up a conversation while waiting in the queues or riding a bus and ask the person where they're from, about 50% of them will say "New Jersey." :)

As the pp said, crowds are moderate.

We were there during Jersey Week in '09, and had no problems. Honestly, it didn't seem too busy to us at all. It was interesting to hear all the Jersey accents - definitely not what we're used to hearing!

Jersey accents? That's just talking. The rest of you have accents!!!! :rotfl2:

The other day someone at my niece's work asked her what part of Ireland she was from. She looked at him a little confused and said, "No hon, that's just Baltimore."

The NJEA convention this year is 11/10 and 11/11. Many schools in NJ also have election day off which is late this year (11/8)

We are going Nov. 8th - 13. Had no idea it was Jersey Week. As long as Snookie and "the Situation" aren't in the room next to us I guess we will survive.

Wow, so Ds would only have missed TWO days of school?? I REALLY messed up!! :( Oh well.
Thanks for the info.

We will be there too! Food & Wine is still going on until Nov 13th, so Epcot will likely be busy, especially in the World Showcase. My DS is only 6 and he doesn't yet appreciate visiting the countries, so we'll likely skip that park when we go.

And on the subject of Snooki and how she is not from NJ -- only ONE kid on that entire cast is from NJ. The rest are from NY. They are what we call "Bennys".

Just kidding about the Snookie and "The Situation" remark. I certainately wouldn't judge an entire state by a few people on tv (regardless of where they are actually from). After all, I have seen the way we Mainers are portrayed on television.

Didn't realize food and wine will be going on. I am goiing to go check the exact dates for that now. We have never been during food and wine and it would be cool to check it out. This will be our first trip without the kids, so the things we do will likely be diffeerent than usual anyway. Can't wait!

No offense taken by this Jersey girl! :rotfl:

I just watched Jerseylicious and their portrayal of New Jerseyans is almost worse because all of those people ARE from New Jersey! My niece saw Olivia in the supermarket and said that everyone was staring at her because she was so outrageously dressed and had a TON of makeup on. :lmao:

We'll be down for Jersey week too. My daughter will be a Senior in High School next year so it will be our last Jersey week trip. We've been going During Jersey week for years and the crouds aren't that bad... but we have run into a lot of people that we know during these trips.

Jersey week is the only time we tend to go down...we are not from Jersey though. We find the crowds very manageable. This year we will be there for the F&W from the 11/4 - 12th.....We look forward to going down with the DW family.

We always go during Jersey Week- we only find it crowded on the weekend. If you want to see the dates, look on the NJEA site- they have it listed for a couple of years. :goodvibes I'm really looking forward to next year- it will be a Presidential Election, so we'll have off that day, too (we don't for other elections).
