Hey everyone, well my family booked our trip to Disney for Nov 4-8 not realizing this Jersey week thing. I'm not sure what it's all about. We were hoping that we had chosen a good time to go when the crowds will not be too bad. Does anyone have any information about this?? How are the crowds or how have they been in past years? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jersey Week is a name given to this week in November when our schools have the teacher's convention. All schools are closed Thursday and Friday, and some schools are closed additonal days that week, making this week a good time to go for families with kids in school, since they won't miss many days. We happen to only have school that Monday, and off the rest of the week.

I've been there a few times, during this week, and found the crowds aren't all that bad. If you get to the parks when they open and use Fastpasses, you'll be fine. The weather more than makes up for the little crowds...it's usually perfect weather! Highs in the 80's with little to no rain.

There's other things going on at this time also...the end of the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT, Supersoap Weekend, at MGM, and Veteran's Day is usually sometime around Jersey Week.

I wouldn't worry about your trip. Go and have a good time! Us Jersey people aren't all that bad! :)

Your dates are probably fine. Many people from New Jersey don't arrive until around Wednesday of that week, which would be your last day November 8th. The beginning of the week is nowhere nears as crowded as the Friday-Saturday (November 10 and 11). The thing lots of people don't realize is that many schools all over have days off that week (not just Jerseyans), and lots of kids have a three-day weekend with Veteran's Day on that Friday, so the parks fill up. The Friday-Saturday at MK will be especially busy! But your dates of being there in the beginning of the week will probably be OK crowd-wise. :)

I have been during Jersey Week twice and didn't find it any more crowded than any other time during the Food and Wine Festival. What you WILL find is an usual amount of Jerseyans!

This will be our second trip to WDW during Jersey Week - but we'll be staying longer because we drive there. Just remember that Veteran's Day is being observed on 11/10, so residents will be off from school/work too. I've already planned to spend this day by the Volcano pool at the Poly :sunny:

thanks all for the information. i'm not quite so worried about the trip now. i was a little bit upset thinking that we had really screwed up and picked a bad time to go, but it sounds like it will be ok. it doesn't really matter anyway since we'll be at Disney but it's nice to not spend it with a million other people on the same day.
