Jersey Week Question?

We are planning on booking our trip November 4th-11th, 2006. From what I understand is that Jersey Week(end?) starts on the 9th. Will we regret going even though it will be only on our last day or two in the parks? Or will the entire week be bad?

This "Jersey Week" think is a new experience for me - I had no idea about it, and my travel agent didn't either!

Yes. On the Thursday & Friday of the week containing Election Day, in conjunction with Veterans Day as well, all of the public schools in NJ are off due to a statewide teachers convention. Many families take off the entire week and head to WDW.

My family went Jersey week last year and we had a wonderful time. It's way over hyped about the whole state of NJ being there. Our longest wait for the whole week was about 40 min (at USF/Earthquake) and I think there was a malfunction while we were in line. The avg wait at WDW for us was 10 minutes and some rides were a walk on. And the weather was great!! You won't regret going that time of year.

But I wouldn't go again that time if you're looking for low attendence. We went in 2002 from the 5th-112th and not only did we hit Jeresy week, we hit Veteran's Day and SSW. We are looking forward to go again but not during that time frame again.

We were in the World Nov 5th - 9th, which was the beginning of Jersey Week.
The longest wait time we had was 40 minutes, but we made use of the Fast Pass system whenever we could. We also got to each park when it opened, and we did the popular rides 1st thing and got fast passes for later.

I did hear that later in the week got alot busier. Also Super Soap weekend was going on at MGM the weekend after we left.

We had a fun time. The parks seemed more crowded than our earlier October trip, but if you have a positive attitude you will have a great time!!!!

I'm a veteran of two Jersey Weeks in the last five years. Both years we got all worked up about crowds before we left and then never waited in a line for more than 10 or 15 minutes!

we were there a few weeks ago-jersey week(we are from jersey!)-I thought the parks were very manageable-most waits were 10-15 minutes with a few exceptions-use of fastpass allowed us to everything we wanted. I would love to be there again next year. BTW, the weather was gorgeous! 82-85 degrees & sunny the whole time we were there-5days.

We arrived the Thursday of Jersey week this year and stayed for the next whole week. The comparison was dramatic. Personally, I'd opt for the next week myself if you could.

Hey dont be down on JERSEY! As a native (born and raised) I would say if you can stay clear of it DO IT! I just spent 2 hours in the mall xmas shopping with the same people you would be spending your vacation with SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I got that off my chest I know that week is teachers conference I think, and I know a few families that went and spent premium money on their packages (I know airfare was skyhigh no pun intended) I dont know how the rest of the trip fared though, but trust me, even though we dont say Joisey we are an aquired taste, now this may ruffle a few feathers, BUT GO TO THE MALL IN DECEMBER AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thewave:

We were at WDW for this year's Jersey Week (we visited 11/4 to 11/12) and I agree that the whole "Jersey Week" thing is over hyped. We found the crowds managable all week with acceptable waits (20 to 30 minutes) on all rides except Soarin. The crowds did build towards the end of the week but that was the effect of locals visiting for the three day weekend not the good folks from the Garden State.
