Jergens Sunless Tanner

I just put it on about an hour ago....doesn't smell too bad, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it in the morning and then go to work and smell it all day.

I keep checking to see if it's doing anything yet. :rotfl2: The "subtle light diffusers" are kind of cool though!

I plan to buy more as I come across it. Once I see how it looks on my arms, legs and stomach, I might get brave enough to try it on my face.

I love it. I have been using every other day or so. Gotta get more....I have been using the light but I want to get some medium and maybe alternate....love it! Beware of the toes and feet areas though! Some orange there...

Did anyone put it on their face? When it fades, does it fade evenly? Sorry, I have some pretty crazy sunless tanner stories from my college years and I vowed never to use them again, but you guys are tempting me...............:sunny:

Okay what about after you take a bath?? My mother has some and it looks good on her legs (she does have a place on her foot) but it didn't look like it had any streaks even after she showered. What if you shower and shower?? I love to soak in the tub so I'm wondering if it will streak on me. Do you put it on your face?? Your arms??

I don't put it on my face, but do put it on my arms and all over my body. I exfoliate every three or four days and start the process all over again. Exfoliating will ensure that when it fades, it doesn't get streaky or patchy. So far I've had none, even in those areas that usually look "dirty" like knees, feet, elbows.

Do you recommend any product to exfoliate ? This is something I haven't done before.

I use Clinique Sparkle Body Exfoliator, but there are a ton of exfoliators out there. Bath and Body Works and The Body Shop both sell good sea salt or sugar scrubs that are less expensive and essentially work the same. You need a good loofah brush too. Trust me, once you do this once, you'll be hooked, your skin feels so soft afterwards. :)

I found mine at Target the other day, (I think I got there around ten o'clock) and they had about 8 bottles on the shelf, with the other tanning creams. I have been using it on my face in the place of my regular moisturizer, and so far, no break-outs and the tan looks great! I'm using it on my body too, and it does have an odor, and you feel kind of sticky until it dries, so make sure to leave yourself some extra time when you get ready. Look it up on the Jergens web site, so you'll know what the tube looks like. Then, you'll be able to snatch it up quickly in the store! :flower:

Well after reading this post, I was on a quest to find it! Yesterday I went to a Walgreens near my house - nothing, Target - only fair skin (I need medium).
Today I went to Pick N Save (grocery store) - nothing, then I was driving to Walmart and I decided to stop at a different Walgreens - WooHoo! They had 5 of the lotions for medium skin I bought 3, because I'm not sure how long a tube lasts. :)

I too just use a "poof" to exfoliate. I had to learn the hard way that even with the Jergens, exfoliating every couple of days is a must. When I first started using it, I forgot to really scrub down for a few days and my skin started peeling off in sheets and I looked very blotchy. (this happened to be the same day we went to see Dave Attell and I was so embarassed to be seen in public like that.) I've made it through my light skin tube and I'm moving on to the medium tube. You guys have given me courage to start trying it on my face!

Ugh - this is why I hate this stuff. The smell is obnoxious. I bought the medium one and used it for 4 days.

I used it once in the morning and went to work, I wanted to CRY I stank so bad.

And honestly - I can smell it on other people. I was out one day and turned to my friend "Are you using Jergen's natural glow" She lights up and says "Yeah - can you tell?" showing me her arms. "No," I said "I can smell"

heheheheh

I tossed my bottle of it...so nasty. I hear the Olay Quench one (the one that has the self tanner in it) smells a bit better.

I was beginning to think it was just me who couldnt find it.
I have checked Osco, Walgreens, Target and Meijers.
I guess I will just have to keep checking!

I think I've gotten used to the smell...I'm on day 4 (well, 3 applications) and I can see a difference. My mom found it yesterday at CVS, but didn't buy me any. :(

I must agree the smell can get to you I say it smells like greasy hamburgers cooking. BUT all sunless tanners smell this way. I have a couple of people looking for it one works at a grocery store and one at Brooks. I have two tubes and I love it. I am being very careful though b/c I want it to last. I have to wait till the Neutrogena junk wears off my legs before I start again.

I just wanted to share with you something for faces that I found. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer. It is not a make up but more like a bronzer with spf 20 and retinol in it. I use it instead of the Jergens on my face. It is temporary but I do not want to take chances on my face especially in light of my many sunless tanner mishaps.

I don't mind the smell, smells like I'm down at the beach. This stuff is going for $20 a tube on ebay. What some folks will do. However, I wouldn't stock up on this, self tanners are only to be kept 3/4 months tops---then you have to watch cause the chemicals meant to tan your skin can do all sorts of wierd things.

omg! This stuff is like the holy grail around here.
My Mother has been to every Brooks, CVS, Walgreens, and Target within a 25mile radius and hasn't found it

Here too. I'm glad I found my 2 bottles.....my sister called yesterday wondering if I could look around up in my neighborhood because she couldn't find any in hers.

Now you all have me intrigued! I'm about to go grocery shopping and I'll see if they have any in there.

I'm really not into sunless tanners, but after reading this thread, I just might!

Regarding exfoliating, here is what it says on their site:

Use daily and after one week, your skin will be noticeably darker. There is no need to exfoliate, just smooth on generous amounts of natural glow evenly over your entire body. Wash your hands following application to prevent unwanted color on your palms and allow several minutes to dry before dressing.

Eh, I disagree. As natural as this stuff is, you still need to exfoliate.
