Has anyone else tried the program? I know it would be better if i could do it myself but I can't. I am hoping that JC will get me back to where I use to be (and maintained for a long time). To drop ten pounds will be such a motivator.
Thanks in advance for your kind responses.

personally I have not, but my aunt was quite successful with JC

My dh and I have both had a lot of success with JC - they have a nice forum on their website where you can get lots of info and get real people to answer your questions just like this board and you do not need to join JC for that - just go to the website. Sorry I am not more savvy or I could post a link here for you.

Do you have to join Jenny Craig to buy food from a JC Center? There's one in my town and I'm interested in trying a few of their products. Thanks!

I think you do need to join to buy but I am not sure. I wonder if they would let you sample some food. It does taste much better then I thought.

you have to join to buy the food. It is best to wait for a promotion like lose $20 pounds for $20 then you can see if you like the program before you buy a lifetime membership. The food is very good IMO

Valerie Bertinelli was a great choice as a spokesperson though.. some company should grab her as a anti-aging spokesperson... I'd love to know what she does/uses (if anything) she looks amazing... she's turning 50!

So I have been at the Jenny Craig thing on and off for a week and a half. The food is really good. I can't believe it. Once I lose my weight I hope to still buy meals to have on hand when I am short on time etc. I am off it on days that something comes up such a chance to eat out etc. I am ok with that. I am sure if I followed the plan exactly the pounds would really be coming off. My stomach does feel bloated but who knows why.

This is my first time joining a weight loss program -I've dieted and exercised on my own but always seemed to gain it back and more. I have to say this is the easiest plan I have ever followed! And the food is really good! I still eat out a fair amount (usually 2 or 3 meals - usually lunches - a week) and have still managed to take off almost 7 lb in the first 3 weeks. So I don't quite buy a full week's worth of meals and use my own dressings and soups so no extras there. And I let my housekeeper go so that added to my exercise routine and I'm using that money to help pay for the food! Its a win/win!
After seeing Valerie Bertinelli in a bikini (and she's my age), I'm super-motivated!:goodvibes

7 lbs is great!! Especially given the time of year. :cool1:

I just started this week and I am loving the food! All of the frozen food is fabulous. My family is jealous. I haven't had my weigh in yet, but I feel lighter.

If you don't mind sharing, how much is the JC program per week? And what do you have to buy?

I went in once about 5 years ago, and they had me speak to a "consultant" and she was 19 and had never been overweight in her life (I asked, and she anwered honestly) and I left with a bad feeling. I did not care for her at all.

For the premium program the sign up fee is $399 (they discounted mine to $349) but with that you get $50 off the 1st week of food, another $50 off when you reach your halfway and once you reach your goal & maintain it for 1 yr (you go back for monthly weigh ins at that point) then you get $200 back. So if you do all that it gets down to $99. The cost of food is high but it is very good & I have found it extremly easy & so worth it. Lost 5.2 lbs the first week. Around $125/week. You can sign up for Jenny Direct and have the food shipped to you if you don't want to go in to a center. You do weekly phone consultations for approx 15 mins.

Good luck!

I joined two weeks ago on the 12lb for 12 dollar deal..its 6 weeks long :cool1:and I am 10 pounds lighter so far!

Good for you!!

Just wondering about hints to stay on track through the holidays. We were in Disney last week and I enjoyed the food. This week all the holiday snacks at work have been hard to resist. Hoping after Christmas to get back on track.

Thanks to whoever posted the cost of Jenny Craig. My DH is on a diet program with high protein, low carb foods. He has to eat every 2-3 hours and then dinner at night. I thought it sounded kind of expensive(but I know protein is expensive) but it's actually on par with JC! I could never get a straight answer as to how much JC's program cost and I just wanted to compare. It's working so far, he has lost about 10lbs in 2 weeks. If he would actually eat every 3 hours it would probably be better but he always "forgets"?:confused3

I eat all the Jenny Food in a day but I get really hungry at 3pm so I eat steamed broccoli with shrimp or I get a grilled chicken salad..I still lose weight. There are good choices to make like buting fat free puddings and fat free sour creamand make dips for veggies. It gives the crunchy satisfaction. I also use spicy condiments on food becaus eit curbs the hungar. I do drink diet soda which fills you up as well..Hope it helps ;)
