About the blood thing. I could go on and tell you that my grandpa died cause he took blood.He did. But I dont blame everyone for that. I was just telling you that we do not take blood because of what the bible tells us to do, not take blood and we listen to him before we listen to others. I think he matters most.

I never said that your children were deprived, not loved or were unhappy. However, you said that JWs children were more loved than anyone elses kids. It just bothers me when people have the "holier than thou" attitude, or the "my religion is the true religion". Honestly, I am an atheist, so I think you're all full of crap, but you don't see me knocking on doors trying to convince people that they are being duped. I'm just asking that when a person says "No" leave it at that, and quit trying to "save" me.

All in all. Jehovahs witnessess do what they do because the bible tells them to do or not do something. So no matter what you do or say, they or we, are not gonna do what you say instead. Gods word over mans. Believe me Our kids are not depriving for anything. They are more loved and more safer than anyone elses kids. They are happy. Just ask them, they can explain to you how they feel, they are also smart. About the blood transfusions. There are many hospitals now that are into bloodless everything and they are not owned by Jehovahs witnesses. They see that it is healther to do things the clean way. We have many articles and vidios about Drs explaining how much healther it is. Usually those that say their relative needed blood cause they were so bad off, so they gave it to them. They died in the long run. So it doesnt save lives. If your a nerse, read up on that, you will be surprised what you find. But even if the Drs didnt say that. We believe the bible when God tells us not to do something. We listen. Its our lives at stake.

my dh was cutting the grass one day when 2 mormons came calling. He told them I would love to hear from them so he gave them my cell phone number. My dh thought it was funny.

JVs---havent run into any of them around here.

Mormans--occasionally get a few, a former neighbor was a church member when I lived in an apt complex so I would see the elders (young guys) quite often. A few of them even helped me move (I needed muscle) They wouldnt take any money or even let me buy them a pizza for helping. Wonderfully nice young men.

I did have a little fun with the ones on mission prior to those ones. I am very big on Halloween and set up quite a few (like over 70) handmade tombstones out for the holiday. They did enjoy reading them but I could tell it kinda freaked them too. So the topper was when they came to the door one day selling me religion (mind you a week before Halloween). I calmly told them that I was a witch and didnt believe in Jesus. (no offense to Wiccans, Witches, etc) They hightailed it out of there and the look on their faces was priceless. I found out later from my neighbor girl that they were afraid of me after thatMight explain why they wouldnt even look at me after that. Poor kids, I felt awful but it was DANG FUNNY!

Funny thing is if I recall the bible was written by men, and passed down as well to men. So taking it literally seems a bit naive and conditioned, not to mention dangerous.

Again on the subject of bloodless medicine, I am a critical care registered nurse in a major metropolitian hospital which has a bloodless medicine program and guess what it is not as efficient as transfusion and therefore ppl still die. You want that life for yourself, well then that is your choice... but choose your childrens lives over the man upstairs, I am sure a good God.. one that I would want to believe in anway would want it that way

In my 12 years of catholic school, I have never heard that the body goes with the soul.... so therefore blood transfusions should make no difference

I don't spend my life worrying about WHO created me... I worry about making a good life for myself and my child (who's life I put before anyone else's beliefs) I worry about being a good person and making my mark on the physical world that I can see.. I couldn't give a rats behind if I end up worm food in the ground so long as I am satisfied with the life I lead here on earth, where it counts

Blind faith may get you though your day, may even make you feel better god forbid your child ever were to need a medical intervention that your so called GOD disallowed... if you can live with that, then I am sure the mighty man will open the pearly gates for you

I'm not really expecting one. I just find it entertaining when people attempt to quote scripture to prove their points, but their points are easily contridicted with other parts of scripture.

I love the Bible, have read it a number of times, but it is a parable to teach us things, not something to be taken literly especially when it contridicts its self so often.

That is exactly what happened to my husband. When he was in Jr. high his mom and dad split up and his mom suddenly decided to become a JW. He is 33 years old, and STILL resents his mother for that. She doesnt practice anymore.. I dont think. She gets my kids gifts and all. But he WONT buy her a gift for anything. Not even call her on mothers day. Yeah.. He is resentful.

You know , these people arnt out to hurt you. They believe that they have a lifegiving thing and they want to share it with everyone. So they think they are saving your life, be grateful that they think enough of you . You will find all diffrent kinds of personalities in them just as well as anyone else. So you find some that is pushy and some that is shy, all diffrent kinds. They arnt all programed to be pushy. There is a simple thing to do if you dont want them to come to your door, and they wont. Put a note out that saise , " No JW's". That is simple enough.

In all serious, if I create a sign that says "No Jehovah's Witnesses" that will work? Really? They won't even ring the bell?

I know "No soliciting" doesn't work.

If you're completely serious, I think I may have just found a sure fire way to make my millions selling "No Jehovah's Witnesses" signs on EBAY ... and hey, fellow DISers, no taking my idea!
