My dad e-mailed this to me. I thought it was pretty funny, born and raised in PA. I especially love 13.

Pennsylvanians - by Jeff Foxworthy

Forget Rednecks, Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about Pennsylvanians...

1. If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you may
live in Pennsylvania.

2. If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you may live in Pennsylvania.

3. If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you may live in
Pennsylvania.

4. If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a
wrong number, you may live in Pennsylvania.

5. If "Vacation" means going anywhere south of Philadelphia for the weekend,
you may live in Pennsylvania.

6. If you measure distance in hours, you may live in Pennsylvania.

7. If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you may live in Pennsylvania.

8. If you have switched from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again,
you may live in Pennsylvania.

9. If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard
without flinching, you may live in Pennsylvania.

10. If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both
unlocked, you may live in Pennsylvania.

11. If you carry jumpers in your car and your wife knows how to use them, you may live in Pennsylvania.

12. If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit, you may live in Pennsylvania.

13. If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph -- you're going 80 and
everybody is passing you, you may live in Pennsylvania.

14. If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with
snow, you may live in Pennsylvania.

15. If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road
construction, you may live in Pennsylvania.

16. If you have more miles on your snow blower than your car, you may live in
Pennsylvania.

17. If you find 10 degrees "a little chilly", you may live in Pennsylvania.

lol! :rotfl:
As a part time Pennsylvanian for some years and now a full timer, most of those are right on the mark! I loved 2, 4, 8, 9, and 10.

What's funny is that there are several that are on a similar list for "you might live in Seattle"...changing snowsuits for raingear, and so on... :)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: #8 Did it for me!

I moved to the Poconos 17 years ago....THIS is all So TRUE!

These are mine --- I had to laugh at #1 -- I worked at DQ in jr. high & high school - --- we were open June to the day after Labor Day :rotfl:

I lived in Pittsburgh in the winter of '78 - one of the worst ever when everyone thought the ice age was coming.

I remember walking home from the grocery store and unbuttoning my coat because it had warmed all of the way up to 20 degrees!!!

i grew up just over the border from pa and i can so relate to these..

YUP!:rotfl2:
I live in PA.!
This just confirmed it!:rotfl:

So true! Especially the Halloween costume over a snowsuit!

He forgot some...such as...

If you can say Firehall and Wedding Reception in the same sentence while being serious, you may live in Pennsylvania.

If you've ever done your lessons before redding up your room, you may live in Pennsylvania.

If you know how to pass an Amish buggy, have done so, and think nothing of it, you may live in Pennsylvania.

If your school is closed on the first day of Deer Season, you may live in Pennsylvania.

:)

I got others, but I'm curious. Does anyone else?

#1 about DQ was my favoriteand the Halloween costume but your Amish buggy thing is pretty good!

How about if you can listen to a whole traffice report and they never say the Route #s, you may live in PA? Or is that a Philly thing, Blue Route, Skcyukhill (sp), Vine St Expressway.?

Also something that always confused people moving to PA besides the names of highways:

The city of Chester is not in Chester County.

Delaware County is in PA not the state of DE!

Most of those also work for my part of NJ - 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14, plus school closed first day of deer season and firehall/wedding reception. Maybe it's because we're about 20 miles from the PA border :confused3 ?
