This is our 10th trip to WDW and I have never paid attention to the Jedi Training at HS mainly because my girls have never been interested in Star Wars until BB8 came along. They seem interested in doing the Jedi Training. It would be on a Monday in early June. We have an ADR at 50's PT at 1:50pm. If I sign them up right at park open, how long will I likely be in line? Do I get to pick a time? What if that time is during my ADR, do I have a choice of show times? How long before the show do they go in for training? My girls are 6 and 9 will the 6 year old almost 7 year old be able to do the show? She is small and only 35 lbs. and 40" tall. I did not see any height restrictions and she is within the age range.

Thanks!

Age is 4-12, no height requirement. Kids need to be present at signup and need to show up 30 minutes before their show.
You can pick the show time you want, as long as there is space in it and earlier shows fill up first.
We did this last week and while I intended to arrive pre-park opening we did not and I got to Jedi signups around 9:40. There was no line at all and they had shows from 4pm on still available.

No height restrictions, just an age range that both your kids are well within. What they will want to know is if the kids will be able to follow instructions and go up on the stage without their parents. So the kids have to be present to sign up.

We did Jedi Academy on an average crowd level day and got there at 9:10 on an EMH day when they had been open since 8am. There wasn't a line at all and they had openings from 2pm through the rest of the evening. And I think this was before they added more shows.

As long as they aren't completely full you can pick the show time that works for you. We choose an evening time so we could go right after dinner.

One last tidbit that hasn't been mentioned.
This event is cancelled in the event of rain.
The stage is elevated and they worry about it being slippery when wet so it doesn't take much rain for them to cancel.
Something to really keep in mind in June when FL has almost daily afternoon thunderstorms.

Also, I have heard many comments from participants that it is particularly fun at night/when it's dark. The light sabers can glow, something they don't do in the day time.

thanks! We were thinking of going to AK that night to see the new night show but perhaps we will do that another night.

are the kids within sight of the parents?
Are you asking because one of your kids may have separation issues?

The onstage Padawans take care of the kids - sometimes with hand-holding and much encouragement. Let the JTA CMs know of your concerns when your kids check into the show. The operations CMs will alert the Padawans.

This YouTube video should help. I would watch it with the kids so they know what to expect. In fact, I've been practicing with two of our kids over the last few days to prepare them. :thumbsup2

Another thing to consider is whether the kids have a preference as to who they fight -- Darth Vader or Seventh Sister. If they do, you can tell a CM when you report to the lineup location for the show.
