Jedi Training for under 4

I Was at RD Monday hoping to get my 3 year old into Jedi Training. I'd read several places that if they answered questions well enough sometimes they would be allowed in. Monday was a crowd level 1 day and my son is a month shy of 4 so I was confident enough to wait in the line.

We got an immediate no. No questions. I was sure that if they talked to him they'd allow it. By the time we got out of the building lines were long and we lost the benefit of RD.

I just wanted to pass along the info to anyone in a similar circumstance.

They are strict. The age limits are 4-12. 3 year olds don't go, neither do 13 year olds. Don't know who got an exception, because I've never heard of anybody getting an exception. And they are so strict that they do not count "a month shy of 4" as being 4.

My daughter did it with being 3 days shy of 4, and it turned out to be a funny. All week she was telling people she was 4 as we were there that week celebrating her birthday. At sign-up they asked her her age and she said she was 4. During the training, when she went to face Vader, the instructor ask her, "How old are you?". She replied "3". The instructor said, "So your parents lied to get you up here." Then as she was fighting Vader he said, "Hurry, we have to get you back to the nursery."

You read several places with bad info.

This poster didn't get an exception. The kid said she was 4, if she'd said she was 3, they wouldn't have let her do it.

Only if the child states that they are 4-12, will they be allowed to participate. I will be flamed, and deserve it, but when we were there last Dec., I shared with my almost 4 year old that he had to be 4 for the show. I told him that he may not be able to participate. He was super excited, but understood that it may not happen.

Only it is never that simple...when the CM asked, my youngest enthusiastically answered all of the CM's qusetions and told him that he was 4. Then my 8yo proceeded to say, no he's not, he's 3. I just smiled. Then the CM said 'happy birthday' and went on to the next kid.

I would have just skipped JTA this past trip if it weren't for the fact that we are moving to Seattle, and this would be the last trip ever. My youngest is a big Star Wars fan, and a performer...and I knew he would be great. He was. He battled the dark lord and was victorious...but ran and hid from every single princess and character we met during the rest of the trip ; )

When my 4 year nephew participated a few weeks ago, there was a 3 year old in the show. His parents must have lied but the boy said he was 3 while on the stage and he did look younger than 4.

My grandson was five when he did this a few years ago. I was not along to witness the questions the kids were asked (we took our granddaughter to collect FastPasses - before the Plus system). He obviously passed and was scheduled but the child was (and still is and always will be) height challenged along with all of our family members (I'm 5' , husband 5"6", son 5' 7", daughter-in-law, 5", 3" - the kid won't be playing basketball )

He was called a Hobbit which was very funny but it was not that easy for him. He did fine and the video is great but think about what your child at whatever height they are at and looking up at either Darth Vader or Darth Maul (there are two platforms) will be going through.

Also, there are reasons for the age limitations so if you are turned away, ask about those. If a child is just a month away from 4 and gets accepted, then why not a child just two months away? Or one three months away? Or a child just days away from the other age limit?

We don't do that with driver's licenses or drinking age or voting age so why with an attraction where a little one could get hurt?

He was not 4. He was still 3 at the moment. The CM did nothing wrong turning him away.

1) The rule says "4" and not "Almost 4".
2) People should not try to cheat the system.
3) CM's that enforce the rules are to be congratulated and praised.
4) Just my opinion.

There's a much better response - the trainers should reply "That is not the way of the Jedi, to lie. The age rule is important for Jedi training - look what happened to Anakin Skywalker..."
