Dies anyone know if the Jedi training will be carried over to 2015? My nephew is so into this stuff that us all he us taking about . We are going in May and want to have him participate if at all possible. If it is what's the best way to make it happen?

It is incredibly popular so I would be shocked to hear that they are cancelling it. My advice is to head there first thing in the morning as soon as you enter the park and get him signed up. Make sure he is with you, though, as you have to have your young Jedi with you to reserve a spot.

There are no plans to suspend or cancel Jedi Training at this time. It has been a very successful attraction/activity for several years. I would think they would add to it before canceling it.

Not sure if they have added it to FP+, but if not I think they will making easier to book than running like crazy at RD.

JTA is a permanent show at DHS. If you are staying at an onsite resort, plan on going to DHS on an EMH morning and as soon as the gates open, head directly to JTA sign-ups with your nephew.

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your nephew some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your nephew will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening.

Great thanks! It will be one happy young man if this happens!

Try to sign him up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

We weren't planning on doing rope drop but I think we're going to have to...my 10 year old son is DYING to do this. And since we have tons of princess stuff planned for his sister, I think I have to do my best to get him into Jedi Training.

So rope drop is really my only chance, huh? Damn, that's early. Maybe he and I can do rope drop and hubby and my daughter can meet us later.

It is your safest chance, not your only. Depending on crowds, spots could disappear in minutes or they could last for an hour or two or even more.

This is the part of my touring plan for next week that is vexing me the most. We are doing all the Frozen items with the package and an afternoon break. We want to do JTA most desperately. I am hoping we can fit this in. I have a 2 boys that will love this.

Only Chance no. Best Chance yes.

But also understand, as the shows fill they close. So if you don't want to be in the 5:30p show (or what ever the last show is), you need to do that as soon as you can.

If a show you want is closed you can get put on the list as an alternate (for the day not the show.) then you have to show up 30 minutes before each show you want to try to be in and wait and see if they have a full group or not. The Alternate list is a priority list, so if you are at the top of the list, and they can take one more, you get the spot before someone lower on the list.

Finally about DHS (it's not MGM anymore) it typically opens BEFORE the published time. If it is published to open at 9am, they could be open and have been operating attractions and signing people up for JTA, since 8:20a. Typically it seems to open 10-15 minutes early. But I've seen reports that it's opened at as early as 8:15a on a regular day (not christmas, not SWW, just a regular weekday.)

The later you attempt to sign-up, there will be less sessions from which to choose. It's more difficult to change FP selections if his JTA session interferes with the FP timeslot. In late September, there are still afternoon thunderstorms which cause cancelation of the show. Rope drop is your best chance of DS enjoying a JTA session.

My son is an early riser and our DHS day is after an off day, so we should be well rested. Maybe he and I can make rope drop and meet hubby and my daughter (neither of which are morning people!) later in the park, once they've had time to wake up. :)

After subjecting my son to a week of princess torture for his little sister, I can make it work! ;)

This probably would be a great idea. The two of you can get there and sign him up and then maybe hit a ride or two or go and get a large muffin (or even a cupcake) to share while you wait for the others to join you.

It seems to me that last winter we got there even before rope drop because the park opened a good 10-15 minutes before it was scheduled to. Remember you have to go through bag check which can be very long at that time. If you and your son go early try to go bagless and let the others bring anything you would ordinarily bring in. My dgs's love Jedi training and it is so worth seeing how excited they are! Have fun!:) Gram

Here's a tip I hadn't seen before. We arrived to sign up for training later than I had wanted to. Probably about 20 minutes after the park opened. When we got in line they warned us that standby might only be available by the time we reached the counter. I was devastated as this was the one thing my son really wanted to do. We waited anyway and in the end had several choices of times (all later in the day, though, which was fine for us). So if they warn you you might be getting standby stay in line anyway. We saw several people duck out of line who would have made it in.

All good advice in this thread.

Be sure to get to the turnstiles by at least 8:30 am. It's early, I know, but you won't regret it.

Just wanted to provide recent data. On our THIRD attempt(once rained out and once MAJOR CM issue) at this a couple weeks ago, we were about 15 people back from the turnstile after arriving a half hour early. The people in front of us had MB issues across both available Mickeys and were not taken out of line. After that delay we booked to JTA I using the shortest possible path and somehow 32 kids had gotten in front of us! I was shocked but it was sooo worth it. The MM pics are priceless.

Very good advice in this thread-we were there 3rd week in June(high crowds)-at RD and walked briskly to Jedi sign up. Actually only middle DD decided to do it (My DS has some anxiety issues even though he loves Star Wars) - we had no problem getting timeslot we wanted (and by no means were we the first peeps there). It is a very entertaining show and the pics were awesome (yet another reason I am glad we did MM!) Parents also get priority viewing spot close to stage.
