Jedi Training Academy Closing Sept 12?

There was a permit filed for the current stage, so it's possible that the location isn't moving after all, at least for now. If it's not and they're going to work on the stage, then of course they need JTA closed. I suspect, however, the real (or more relevant) answer is simple cost-cutting. Since they're "reimagining" JTA and re-casting it, they need to train those new CMs. Why pay double for two months (for both the current cast and the new cast) when they can close temporarily and have no cast-related expenses?
So disappointing. It was the one special experience I was hoping my 6 year old cousin would get to take part in (and it's free- bonus!). It would be nice if they at least had a meet and greet of some kind during that time, but I'm not holding out too much hope for that.

Usually Disney releases upcoming refurb info to travel companies. For example splash is closed from January 10-14.

I mean to the general public. If they can tell the travel companies, why not the rest of the public? Is it really that difficult for them to post a notice on the ride page on MDE? They expect us to plan so far in advance, yet don't give us the information that they have that is relevant to our trips. Grrrr.

And this isn't aimed at you at all. As our trip approaches, I just get more and more upset about this.

that is was is making me mad.. they want us to book everything in advance..but they are not letting people know about the informations they need.. I'm celebrating my son birthday.. Baymax and JTA was the only things that my son really wanted to do ( and about the only thing that is more made for boys of is age) and since I book the trip..I learn that both are not going to happen.. Knowing that far in advance, I would have push my trip back a fews weeks later.. It's like MNSSHP. they are not letting people know how much tickets they are planning to sell on a sold out night.. I'm going on oct 29..I know it is gonna be a sold out night.. I would appreciate to know how many people it is before paying 400$ for a night. I love Disney, I love everything about it but.. I really think they should give the same thing that they ask to there visitors. It is not normal that people dont know if a major attraction like JTA will be close when they will be at disney il less than 2 weeks. I was very impress with disney because they were doing so much to make there visitors happy.. I really thing that this as change in the last years

I heard closing in Oct and re-opening in Dec before Christmas. We're going Dec 12 so I hope it's back up!!

They haven't said anything because there is NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION that they are closing. What do you want them to do, "officially" shoot down every rumor that pops up on this board in regards to someone claiming something is shutting down or going away?

If it's no closing, I understand they dont.. but if It is closing, I'm sorry but I really thing that 10 days from the closing date, They really should let people know

When the cast has been notified, Make a Wish has been informed, permits have been filed for stage work, and guest services has confirmed it, it moves beyond a "rumor that pops up on this board" status. That being said, they never announce closures like this in advance because it falls under the veil of their offerings being "subject to change".

Seeing that Oct 4 is a little over a week away, shouldn't they say something about it soon if it is indeed closing? They can't have people showing up the morning of the 4th and say oh sorry, it's closed for the next two months. Seems like poor communication all around.

at least now the debate is over :( was going november 2 only for making a special something for my son birthday.. Now I'm wondering if I skip HS that day and do something else.. with JTA close, attractions that have close not long ago, less meet and greet.. I have the feeling that HS will have the fews attactions left really really busy

I still say that I'd pay for an adult version of this.

I don't usually bother with meet and greets myself, but "fight Darth Maul"? I'm there.

for the lucky one that are there on oct 4..it's gonna be open..last day schedule is on disney site

This people, was my entire point. People were jumping to crazy conclusions due to lack of knowledge. Suddenly everyone knows a CM that knows for sure it is closing and going away forever, when the reality is it is a temporary shut down while they change up the show. That is a totally different scenario than disney quietly shuttering an attraction without making any announcements.

Do you have this thread confused with another one? The very first sentence of the OP states that the rumor was because of the reimagining of the experience. I don't think anyone in this thread thought it was going away forever.
