After reading this I was wondering. Where do those of us who are 40ish or so and in the "I really need a diet" phase of life find jeans that fit??? I get so frustrated. I like the way junior jeans fit. I am short 5' 1". The womens jeans are normally high in the waist, over generous in the legs and long. A size 20 is to small and a 22 is huge. I found Junior size 21 at Wal-Mart made by No Boundries but they rarely have them. These fit wonderful except for the length. I have hemming jeans. I know I am a large woman but I still would like nice jeans but not one that look like the high school girls are wearing. Someday when all the excess is lost I won't have as hard of a time but until then does anyone know where I can get Junior size 21 jeans in a petite?? :confused3

Have you tried Levis? They make a Levis 5-0-something that is midrise and allows room for those of us who may have expanded a bit. I have a pair that hit me just above the hips and in my case just below my poofy belly. I didn't really have a muffin top though because they hit just right in the back and sides.

I guess that it depends on how you're built though. You may want to try the different Levis styles to see if one works.

I like SO jeans from Kohls. They have a bit of stretch to them but don't look like those old stretch jeans that looked painted on LOL They hit right below my belly button, but still cover where my hip bones used to be LOL and cover enough so you don't have that volcano look bubbling over the top.

Oh and they have a nice rise, and are cut to make you look like you have a cute little (or in my case a bit of a large) bubble butt :) I hate jeans that make me look like I have a flat butt.

Nothing worse than being an old, flat, bubbling volcano LOL

Agree about the SO jeans from Kohl's, and Levis. Both come in short/petite and fit well. My best fitting jeans I ordered online at Target. They do custom jeans - you just give them your measurements. They weren't expensive at all either - around $40 I think.

I wear Levi's mainly mens jeans. 550 or 505's. I hate the way womens jeans sit WAY up above your belly button- drives me insane! i dont like the super low rise like the 16 year olds wear, but I want them below my belly button.

Gap makes "short" as does Levi, and I believe Old Navy does as well.

I get longs, so i dont spend much time looking for short ones sorry!

I really like a jean made by St. Johns Bay. They are in the womens section at Jcpenny's and I like the mid-rise, stretch, petitie. I love it because they carry a 14. They do have larger sizes.

:thumbsup2 Another vote for St.Johns Bay jeans at penneys also try the levi's you might be surprised.........happy shopping....... pixiedust:

I have found that for me the only jeans are Lee. alot of other jeans are too short in the crotch, who wants to feel uncomfortable all day. dont like stretch jeans, hug my legs too much.

The thing that makes me frustrated with jean shopping for women is that it should be easier. I wish that we could shop for the waist and inseam measurements like the guys can. I'll get some that fit in the hip, but I'd need to stretch myself out a few inches for them to fit in the length. If I then go with the shorter size in that same pair of jeans they are too short. What gives? There are not enough inseams! Why should we have to get them hemmed? Ugh, no wonder I don't like shopping!

And in case luvmydogs is reading this--no, I'm not going to post a pic of my butt--it's a size 12--nothing too large, but still nothing that I'm going to post on the internet. :lmao:

Lee Jeans - They have a touch of stretch, are low rise but not too low and straight leg.

Stores such as Neiman Marcus and other top designers allow you to shop by inches and inseam. I love it, no more short jeans :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Honest;y, I have terrible luck with women's jeans. An 18 is too small, a 20 is too big, and the legs are always the wrong length. I have much better luck with men's jeans. I love Osh Kosh men's jeans - they fit great!!

I love Tommy jeans. A lot of them are made to fit around the waist instead of the hipsters. I cracked up when I saw the title of this thread. My 18 yr old dd says its time to give it up and go to mom jeans. So I am working even harder at the gym and no more donuts---I love donuts. ahhhhhhhh

Never!!!

icebrat001, will I have to take out a second mortgage to afford those jeans? :rotfl:

I love Levi's low rise straight leg stretch jeans. I found them at Kohl's. They have just enough of a flair on the bottom to look great with boots. Oh, and their stretch so no chance they'll turn into muffin toppers :rotfl: . I'm 5'3+" which is on the fringe of petite/regular. They sell them in short which fits great.

Not unless you buy the $500 and up jeans. If you buy the ones in the $100- $199 range, you shouldn't have to take out a second mortgage.

Think of it as money well spent, no more headache trying to find jeans, they actually fit like they are supposed to and you'll look pretty darn sexy, people won't even notice your flaws.
