I got some new jeans, even a size smaller thanks to my DD food allgeries and me not being able to eat milk or eggs either.

Anyway I like them. They are the new low rise kind, they fit very well and very comfortalbe. (DH thinks they look sexy. :goodvibes )The thing that is driving me crazy is the lengh. Even though I got "short" they come down to my calfs and sometimes under my feet. Even with shoes on.

The thing is I was at a mall tonight and noticed, that is the style. Everyone, just just us shorties are wearing them that way.

Does it drive anyone else nuts? I kept pulling them up so I don't trip. It doesn't seem long enough to hem them over, but I don't like this style. Anyone else with this problem?

They are made longer because heels are in with jeans right now.

You know, after searching through so many different brands of women's jeans, I finally had to buy *men's* Levi's! I could choose the waist and length and cut, and finally had something that had a proper fit.

Of course it doesn't help that I'm a 38 yr. old woman built like a 12 yr. old boy.

You know, for me that defets the puprose of jeans in the 1st place. Besides I wear crocs with mine. :goodvibes :rotfl:

What is it with the heels that have toes in a point. Ouch.

BTW I just figued out if I use a belt it helps. I guess I am lossing weight! :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Yep,I have this problem too..... Sigh.
At least some of the styles are a bit higher on the belly now instead of that just above the hairline stuff I found last fall... :guilty:

I got some new jeans just the other week and am having the same problem. I got petites, and I'm about the tallest you can be and still need petite (at least in my legs, as it's my torso that's really short), so I'm okay with shoes, even just Keds or Crocs, but I don't wear shoes around the house. I end up rolling them up so I don't get tangled up in them and fall down.

My problem is the new flare or boot cut don't roll well. Oh well. It was funny so many other people I saw with there jeans all hanging on the floor and getting dirty. Oh well, a few years and these will be out of style. I wonder what will be next?

What do you mean "roll"?
When you fold the bottom of your pants up so that they're shorter.

Mine are boot cut too, and I was surprised that they stayed up well, but they did. :confused3

BTW, I also got to go down a size due to my baby being allergic to eggs. I have recently discovered that 1 heaping TBSP of soy flour and 1 TBSP of water makes a good substitute for eggs in baking. I've tried it in waffles and cornbread so far. My next experiment is cookies! :)

Ok, I started the thread, so I guess we can highjack it Kermit.

I too have been cooking eggless. I have been using something called egg replacer from Bob's Red Mill. It is a powder flour mix that has: Flour, wheat gluten, corn syrup solids, Algin (from Algae). What ever that is. One teaspon of it and 3 of water = one egg. Howeve the bag is expensieve like $8. I think it is = to 4 dozen eggs or more though. I found you really have to mix it up good ahead of time for it to work well. I don't have any soy flour, but that is worth a try. I know some recipes call for extra baking soda.

I made pumkin bread today with the trader joes mix, apple sause (instead of oil) and some glaze with vanilla soy milk and powdered sugar (egg replacer too) Oh my was it good. I mean really good. Kept this up and I won't need a belt anymore. ;) I have gotten rather good a brownies too (Ducan hines doesn't have milk in it!) :goodvibes

BTW, did you know? Marshmellows don't actually have egg in it. (at least not Jet Puff.) My nurtisonist and the allgery web site says they do, but kraft says they don't. DD loves the mini ones and Rice crispy treats are back for us (if I use Vegan butter.) :Pinkbounc Marshmellow cream fuff does though.

As another poster stated, jeans are long because you are now supposed to wear them with heels. My goodness, PLEASE don't roll them! :sunny: Anyway, I am very thankful. I am 5'7" and have spent the last 10 years dealing with short jeans and searching store after store for a jean that won't be a "highwater" jean on me. I am just thrilled.

They are actually even a bit on the long side. Since I like wearing my jeans with boots and stuff, this is just perfect.

I didn't realize people still did this. We did it back in jr high and high school -- but that was early 80s.

It's quite trendy here (or was this summer) to roll your regular jeans up short enough to be 3/4 length pants. It looks cute ;)

I know what you mean. I'm 5'4" and because part of my height is in my torso I also have to buy petite pants. Even 'short' don't work and are too long. The petite even are quite long on me sometimes. I do think that sometimes they should offer us a choice of inches length that they offer men. Do the clothing designers even imagine that all women only fall into one length category?

I'm almost 5"9' & I have always had a lot of trouble finding jeans that are long enough.....I must have put on 5 pairs at Kohl's yesterday & they were all too short.
My DD16 wears her pants hanging so long that I'm amazed she can walk w/o tripping over them......apparantly that the style now :confused3

That is what I am talking about......... :goodvibes

I have seen the high rolling trend (gap) but can't get the feel of it. (hey the new low rise is different enough, but I actually got used to that while pregnant and found under the tummy is much more comfortable!)

I guess I have to get a pair of winter shoes with a little heel to them. I am short and as a rule tend to stay away from them. I hate it when short women wear supper high heels to make up for it, like they don't think they are good enough short. I am fine with my height, but the chunky heels aren't as bad now a days. As a mommy I go for comfort, hence wearing jeans.

Still rather excited about how good I look in them though. You know the speical K commerical where the women trys on the Jeans and is dancing around, that is me! :cool1:  ;)

I am about 5'3" and I bought some Old Navy jeans short length and they don't drag the ground. I am able to wear flats with them.

Old navy is the pair that is driving me nuts. That would make sense, I am around 5', you have a few inches on me.

I normally buy my jeans from jjill and the petie always fits perfectly. Even now they are a bit too long. They don't drive me batty like the old navy pair (but the old navy pair was only $20, the jjill was normally $78, but I had a coupon that took them down towards $50.)
