I was reading a thread over in the theme park boards and saw a long OT discussion about whether or not using "JC" (initials for Jesus Christ) is a curse word. So I thought I'd post here rather than go OT over there. I suppose the controvery is about those instances when it is used as an exclamation or expletive. Some posters saw no problem with it being used this way, while others said they would be offended.
As a Christian I would not utter "JC" (expanded) as an exclamation. Not because I equate it with a curse word (as in the 7 you never say in TV), but as a matter of respect. It is not respectful to use the Lord's name in that way. At the same time, unlike many Christians, I am not nearly as offended by f-bombs and other classic cuss words as I am by disrespectful use of the Lord's name... But that's just how I am
