Jawas no longer trade at Launch Bay?

Hello,

My wife was excited to trade with the jawas on our trip to Hollywood studios today, but when she tried to intiate a trade the jawa just opened his leather pouch and showed it empty.

We asked two cast members and they talked in Disney speak and said that the jawas warehouse is full. One told us it has been going on for 3 days now. We couldn't get anymore info out of them.

Any one know the reason?

Yeah. This is just our experience and wondering if anyone knew whats up.

saw a post earlier today relating a similar experience on Sept 14 where the jawas would do no trades. Hope this is a temporary thing.

It's up to the CM who is behind the jawa. Disney doesnt provide the items for tirade, if a CM really loves their role as a jawa, they'll bring in some little treasures to trade.

We tried to trade twice Monday 9/5 and it didn't work. Our 5 y/o was really disappointed.

I think it was the SW thread I just read someone report this. They said in talking with the CMs they said they had stopped it because of "issues" but no indication if it was temporary or permanent.

My boys are going to be so bummed, they were really excited about this. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I traded on 9/10. It was a different bag than the one at SWW, doesn't hold as much or as big items. Hopefully they reinstate this; trading is part of being a Jawa like complaining good naturedly is part of being C-3PO

There's been some discussion about this on @yulilin3's SW thread on the TPAS board:

Got word back from my daughter who asked the CM that were with the Jawas. She said "The Jawas shipment of droid parts went astray and we don't know when they will return to us" so my daughter asked, do you kknow when they will have their droid parts back and the CM said. Not for the forseeable future

This is me completely speculating, but if they have done away with trading all together it might have been because people started complaining about the Jawas not accepting their items. If you notice Jawas are no where listed on the map, on the site or in the times guide. It's supposed to be a fun surprise for SW fans when they go to Launch Bay, the trading is part of their character, they look for stuff, they barter and trade. As such they don't take just anything, so they are being true to character. Same as Kylo Ren won't hug, high five, or show any affection.
I understand people ad kids in particular might be dispapointed by this but that's when you can explain what the character is doing, they are being true to the movies.
I think it would be wise to find trinkets, bring them, but don't hype the experience up, or explain that a trade may not happen

I can vouch that the Jawas do not seem to be trading. I attempted to trade them my 14 year old and they wouldn't take him!!

All kidding aside, my husband and I have attempted to trade with the Jawas multiple times and each time we were told no and other times the Jawa shrugged and showed an empty pouch. So, if anything, the trading is very inconsistent and you should be more prepared for them not to trade than you should be for them to actually trade.

My kids love the "traders" we always take trinkets for them to trade with! They will definitely be disappointed

They examined items on the 14th but didn't offer anything in return. One said no to the stuff I had but then took my fiance when I offered him up. I didn't get anything but they still took him so I guess it was more a theft and not a trade haha.

On reddit a close friend of the jawas said they weren't trading at all for a few days because the droid pieces "got lost between Earth and Tatooine"
That said, they also made sure to mention the jawas only have so much to trade so they only trade two or three times an hour. They can only trade droid pieces because of complaints.
