Jawas no longer trade at Launch Bay?

While I didn't trade personally it looked like they were on Thursday 9/29

We were there 9/27 with no kids and I was able to trade. We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. I had forgotten to bring the items I packed specifically to trade so I grabbed one of the shiny plastic "Happy Birthday" bead necklaces I had given my husband to wear. They were 3 for a dollar at dollar store. The jawa was taking pictures while we waited. No one else attempted to trade. I just walked up and held out the necklace and shook it to show it was shiny and the jawa grabbed it! She spent a long time reaching around inside her bag (it was obvious it was a woman) and finally brought out a shiny plastic kids ring to trade. I was pretty happy just to make the trade. A few minutes later a family came in with a little girl and I gave her the ring to trade with. They didn't know what it was about but I told her to hand it to the jawa. She got a Disney pen back and was so excited! It was fun just to be a part of trading. It was very slow while we were there but I do think they may be more picky about what they'll take for trade. It may not have to be light up, but they do like shiny. I also think the necklace we traded would make a nice trade if the jawa ran into someone wearing a Birthday button. So trade shiny items that they'd be able to trade out easily.

we took one of the star wars cruises earlier this year and the crew said that shiny objects catch their eyes the best. luckily we packed several small shiny objects and i gave a few out to the younger kids onboard so they could trade. I hope they don't discontinue this maybe put and age limit because the look on a child's face after a trade is priceless.

My son traded with a Jawa yesterday at the launch bay. We had gold Mardi Gras coins from the POFQ. The Jawa was super excited and gave my son a mini glow stick that attached to a glow in the dark jet. Super small. But it was awesome.

We were there the week of Sept 19th and they traded. Traded a new pin (it was brought as a trader). The Jawa opened their pouch and dug into a little compartment in it and pulled out a pin to trade us in return.

based on the last couple of comments it is seemingly more like they are trading, but only if it isn't junk. I remember early on people saying they traded all sorts of things that would go right in the garbage - those are things they are probably now declining and just "not trading"...no?

I remember heading stories of people trading a plastic fork or ketchup packets and how they'd just stop at ABC Commissary to get beforehand. Makes sense they don't want that stuff.

i've gone there many times. sometimes they don't talk to us, sometimes they have traded, sometimes they have refused trade. No matter what we have fun. I'm perfectly happy to stand there and watch them mess with other people. Last time i brought a sheet of star wars stickers I had. The Jawa looked at me, looked at the stickers, looked at me, and then threw them over her shoulder onto the floor and walked away. i burst out laughing. I loved it!

We were just at WDW last week and most of this week. We traded with the jawas in HS one day. I tried to trade with one, but he/she wouldn't stop and even look at the item. Then I showed my trinket to another one, and he seemed excited and took it to it's handler. They looked it over and gave a nod, so the jawa came back to me and opened his bag and gave me a trinket. While I was there, I saw another jawa trade with a child too. So, I don't know what the answer is, but maybe we just got lucky, or maybe they are cutting back some. I searched for something different connected to star wars, and it worked. I didn't use the things that have been suggested over and over on these sites. Maybe that was it????

Fingers crossed that they continue to trade. My 8 yr. old is rummaging through his wares for our upcoming trip in June.

I brought some flashing rings to trade earlier this week. We stopped by late and the handler said they were all out of trading items for the day.

We go in june and my 2 boys are hoping to trade. If we can't, maybe we can still get a photo!
