January Weather

We are thinking of taking our first ever cruise on January 12-16, 2003. Curious as to what the weather is like that time of the year? Trying to get an idea of what types of clothes to pack and what I need to buy.

We sailed the Eastern 1/26/01 and had fantastic weather. 80's, sunny, PERFECT! Others might have had different experiences, I know wind at CC can be an issue.

We sailed 1/19/02 and the weather was absolutely perfect. It was in the 80's every day and not a cloud in the sky. The water was a little chilly but you get used to it after being in for a while.

I would cruise again in January!

Another fan of January cruising here! We had a "wonder"ful time; picture perfect weather! Quite a shock to the system returning home though.....we landed back in Maine in the middle of a snowstorn! It was nice to take a break from the cold...if only for 5 days!

we have gone the first part of january and the end of january. both times the weather was great. now we are planning on going again in jan 2003. I have always thought we had terrific weather, and never thought it was cold. of course we live in the middle of Iowa, so anything above 20 degrees in january seems like a heat wave to us.

We went mid-January 2000. It was perfect! Beautiful weather, sunny skies and warm waters. Well, compared to the Jersey shore at least!

We are also sailing in Jan although not with anyone who has posted thus far. Glad to know the weather should be good.

We sail every year in January and have been blessed with excellent weather. We are hoping to do the Western Caribbean in January of 2003 (so much fun that we have to do it again). We bring a sweatshirt in case the nights get cool, but it's always been warm enough for swimming. Of course, we are from Chicago, so our definition of "warm enough" might differ from that of people from warmer climates (especially in the winter!).
