I just wanted to pop back on and say I am a slacker and I lost track of a couple of days then when downhill from there! I haven't spent a whole lot but the daily tracking thing got away from me. We leave for Disney on Sunday so I will try again when we get back!

Catching up. Got two free tickets to preview The Vow last nite. DH & I went and didn't spend any $ on popcorn or anything. Not a bad movie for free, but in my personal opinion, I'm glad I didn't pay full price to see it. It looks like next month I will have to challenge myself to more No Buy days. I think I've done pretty good this month. :thumbsup2

Yesterday my tv died and I was panicking because it is just not an expense that is in the budget at the moment. I am so glad I thought to call Best buy back and have them look under my mom's name because they found I still had a warranty on it. SO they will either fix it or replace it for free.

I did stop at Save a lot for a few items and CVS.

My co-workers took me out to lunch yesterday for my birthday. So another No Buy day for me. And a yummy meal to boot.
Should have filled up my tank yesterday morning though. On the way home I saw it's gone up again. It's steadily going up. :sad2: Oh well gotta have gas regardless.
Going to a friend's today to celebrate our birthdays. That will be fun.
Kinda hoping I can get DH to take me out for my actual birthday tomorrow. We'll see.

Happy birthday a day early, PrincessHeather'sMom!

Well today is my birthday, and while I haven't spent a penny, DH has spent plenty on me! (But I don't count his money!:rotfl2:) He took me out to breakfast and then to the mall for some candles, and then over to New Balance for some new tennis shoes. Good shoes for walking around Disney. And now he's ordered in Chinese for me for dinner. Yum. A good day over all.
Thanks for the bday wishes wlake. Have a good rest of the weekend everyone!

I just wanted to say that you all are rock stars! I want to join next month! Dh and I are trying to pay down debt and rebuild our savings. What is a good number to start with? I'm thinking 12 because that'd mean 3 days a week of no spending.

Hi Four Peas, and welcome. I'd go a little less than 12 days- its harder than it seems and you don't want to get discouraged.

Went to the movies for free today but spent $12 on snacks and $4 on parking. So good thing the movie was free. :-)

2 more days to go, and I have to spend less than $51 to make budget. I can do it!

Welcome Four*Peas! Virgderon is right, this can be harder than it seems at first, especially if you have to rethink how you run your errands. For me, it mainly means thinking more about my online shopping and how often I call DH and ask him to bring home dinner. :)

Well, today was a tough day shopping wise. I ran my 12.5 miles (which took about 3 hours, so you would think I'd be out of time and energy to do much shopping damage!), but ended up in pain and ill, mostly thanks to being sick all week and not training. So I felt sorry for myself and when you combine that with a coupon code for 15% off at LLBean and a couple of promo certificates, well, that means two new sweaters coming my way. Usually I just eat anything I want for the rest of the day but since my stomach wasn't cooperating.... I need more willpower, I know!

1/28: $85 sweaters, $160 BJ's

no buy days: 11/10
dinners out: 4/4 (I can do this, I can do this)
non consumables purchased: 7/0 (EEK!)

:goodvibes. Thanks guys! Maybe I'll start with 10 days.:confused3. I think it'll be tough...but I'm determined! Seems like I can't stop at target or Walmart without spending $50 (that we don't have :rolleyes1) so I need to cut those out. It's been 2 weeks since I've hit target...so that's a start!

Wlake, are you training for a half marathon? Your running is fantastic. I've only gone as far as a 10k and that was good enough for me. :rolleyes1. My friend just did a half and we made a girls weekend out of it. I'm a much better cheerleader than athlete...so I cheer and hold the beer! Can you tell me about your various goals you have listed? What do you mean by non-consumables bought? Like other than food shopping?

Virgderon, $4 for parking at the movies?! :crazy2: you must live in a large city. Holy mackerel. What movie did you see? I love going to the movies but the most action we see around here is the $1.50 theater with dd.

I LOVE LL Bean sweaters! I have five of their swift river sweaters and a few others. They last so long and still look good after years of use. So, i hope you enjoy them!

Oh, and a newborn is a good way to rack up the no-buy days! Of course, I have to buy her diapers, clothes, etc. but she's the best!

01/30/12 = $20.03 gas

Unless something unexpected happens, I don't think I'll have anymore days this week! Wednesday is February 1. Is there a February No Buy thread started yet?

Four Peas, we went into Ybor city in the Tampa area, which has no free parking. Generally we don't have to pay for parking around here- thank goodness! We saw Mission Impossible. It was good , but maybe a little better because it was free lol.

We don't really want to talk about my money wasting , no good ways today. I had zero to no willpower.... my willpower took the day off. While my willpower was out, I bought lunch at work.... my willpower never came back, so I bought candy too, so that I could ruin my budget and my diet at the same time. Sigh.

$900 budget... $29 left
