I had my girl on January 18. Lily Mae, 7 lb, 2 oz, 20.5". Hardly made it to the hospital... Water broke and she was here two minutes later. Her first trip to Disney World is coming up in June, so she will be a nice, portable 5 months old by that point.

Also have had at least five no-buy days, but life's been crazy this month and I needed stuff for the baby. Keep up the good work, I'm impressed by everyone's hard work on this thread. :thumbsup2

I am calling it a $0 day in order to avoid temptation. The consignment shop I go to posted pics of new items today and I am resisting the urge to run out there today. I plan on going next weekend to drop off some clothes to sell so if the items are still there I will pick them up.

I'm trying for a no buy today. Strange for a Sat. but it's supposed to snow pretty much all day and I figure my road won't get plowed until late afternoon. I just have to stay offline so I can't shop there!

Here are yesterday's numbers:

1/20: $25 birthday gift, $50 dinner out, $? groceries

Congratulations! Welcome to the world Lily!

Goal: NO unnecessary spending (no eating out, no purchased entertainment, etc) and keep the grocery bill as low as possible while eating down the freezer and pantry.

Three weeks into Jan our grocery total for the month is $94. Pretty good. And we've eaten pretty well. A weekly menu has been helpful.

Yesterday I fell off the wagon and went to the thrift store for entertainment. I heard they were jammed packed full of donations from folks who'd made a resolution to declutter in 2012. I wasn't looking to buy anything in particular, just thought I might get inspired for a craft or decorating project.

Surprise, surprise, I found things to buy. Spent $25 and got earrings, a winter coat, a sweater to remake as a craft project, and a top.

I spent my allowance so it isn't like it impacts the family budget, but it isn't like a no spending day either:cool1:

Back on the wagon today.

I have been fighting a cold on and off all week and today it came back with vengence. It also snowed a lot overnight. It made it very easy to be a $0 day.
