January no buy

I'm in!

Definitely need to curb the eating out and Target spending...

Already bad on day one...but will hopefully make up for it...

1/1: mcd's $24

Day one of no buy! Woot! Here's to hoping for 7 more!
I did my grocery shopping yesterday and it should last us into next week.

No buy 8 - 1/8
Grocery-500 month - 175/500

$0 day for me! :cool1:

The Salvation Army Thrift Store here is having 50% off clothing tomorrow. I was planning to go see what I can get for the kids. Got great stuff there for 47cents each around back to school time! Anyway, now, I am really trying to decide if we really need any of it or if I can just have another no buy day tomorrow. The weather is supposed to be nasty, so that is a good deterent to going out, too. Hmmmm....

Here's hoping this works. Somthing needs to :)

I've never budgeted before so I will be adding that later. My goal is 10 No Spend days. I usually get breakfast in the a.m. and stop for a Mtn. Dew on the way to work. One of my goals for this year is to cut the Mtn. Dew addiction so this no spend challenge can help with that too!

For 1/1/12-$0-1/10 completed :)

I'm in. I spent way too much on Christmas and a lot on myself too, couldn't pass up the "bargains". I am going to try for 15 no spend days as well as nothing new for myself. So far no spending this year but it is only day 2. I hope to keep it up.

1/1-$0
1/2-$6.47 for lunch
1/3-$45.63 for groceries
1/4-$0
1/5-$20.71 for dinner

1/1- $0 (1/15) off to a good start

I was reading an article this morning from Dave Ramsey's website. The contributor wrote about changing the name of their left over nights to Second Chance Buffet. I thought it was a fund idea. Hopefully it will work for me tonight. :)

:rotfl2: yeah, eventually the fam catches on...:rotfl: I always called ours 'smorgasbord buffet' night,or 'homemade hometown buffet', or 'pick your own dinner'.....:lmao:

This is the first time I have done it this way but I am aiming for 5 no-buy days and 5 under $10 days in January. I have so many financial goals I want to meet this year.........

Well so much for my no buy January...

1/1 $0

1/2 $119.86---pre pay for weight watchers through our new insurance
carrier. But, with this, it is less expensive and I get $50 back after attending
11 meetings.

So, there you go...

Today will definitely be a "No Buy" day, as I am wearing sweatpants and am not putting shoes on, to keep from going to the store. Dinner is in the crock pot, some items were purchased yesterday for dinner today.

Jan 1 - $12.54 @ grocery store (2 pairs of dish gloves, bread, hamburger buns, hot dog buns)
$10.10 at grocery store (I can already see my downfall) buying items to make dinner tomorrow. I said I would go today instead of tomorrow so that tomorrow could be a no-buy day, but I honestly don't see how I saved money unless you count that I stuck to my list and didn't buy any extras.

Jan 2 - $0.00 :)

Love that "second chance buffet" LOL. I will try that for sure.

1/1- Target $70 (used $45 in return monies, so really like $25). Had to get stuff for the new house (light bulbs, ant spray (ugh), step stool a few other things). I still can't believe I left under $100.

1/2- Only grocery shopping today. We are low on everything though because I knew we were moving. Hoping to stay under $80, still have some meat to get through in the freezer so just need fresh items.

Today is going to be a zero. I am not leaving the house.

-------------------------------------------------

1-1 $54.83
1-2 $0
1-3
$52.48/100 Groceries
$50 Natalie's clothes
$50...$100? My clothes
$25 Birthday
$86.63/90 - Household stuff
$40 - Chinese New Year, tickets & DD's dance costume
$45.96/50 - Mad Money

01/01 $0 stayed home!
01/02 I have to grocery shop today.....hope to keep it under $100

I'm calling today early! I'm very proud of my complete lack of impulse buys today, however I forgot I had to change to the company pharmacy as of yesterday, so my meds were $50 instead of $20. Rats. You can bet I won't make that mistake again!

1/2: $50 groceries, $10 Kohls (but used Kohl's cash so nothing out of pocket), $50 pharmacy

No buy days: 1/10
Dinners out: 0/4
Non consumables purchased: 1/0 (DS needed a pillowcase, which was free with the Kohl's cash but will still take up room in the house)

I also dropped three bags of clothing donations off as well as a bag of book donations! :cool1:

Spent the day yesterday cooking, baking, and reorginizing my coupons. Came right home from church and didn't go out to eat like usual. Cooked breakfast at home.

Here is my goal for January:
Family of 3 with 1 dog. And several drop ins at any given time.

Groceries/household- $200/Left (eating out of the freezer this month) But, still need to stock up on a few things like soups. We went thru so much during the freak storm in Oct. Lost power for 11 days.
Car/Gas- $200/Left
Eating Out- $150/Left (forgot DSIS B'day dinner)
Entertainment/Misc- $200/Left(raised due to DD's 2 plays and 2 B'days

Goal of 2/15 No Buy Days

01/01-0-:cheer2:
01/02-0-:cheer2: Calling it now. Brought my breakfast and lunch to work today. Not stopping for breakfast on my way to work 3 mornings is going to be a big deal for me. And going right home from work.

Woot I'm on my second day of no spend!

Tomorrow will be the big challenge though - back to work and I easily drop £5 a day on lunch, soda, birthday here, so and so having a baby there...

12/28 $18.86 Kroger DH stopped in for misc stuff including sparkling wine
12/29 $95.40 Meijer
12/29 $26.00 feed store
12/30 $0
12/31 $0
1/1 $0
1/2 $45.00 Meijer for school lunches/snacks, dinner tonight, and milk

We took down all of our decorations today. Haven't (and probably won't) left/leave the house today! Yesterday we went to the Mummers parade and had dinner at my Mom's house. I think DH bought a pretzel?

1/1 - $1
1/2 - $0
