Anyone finding good rental rates for January (at MCO)? Please let me know if you have any good rates/coupons/tips!
Thanks!;)

I am interested in finding some good rates & codes for January also. Our dates are 1/15-1/24/10). Will I have better luck waiting until closer to the date, or are people finding that the best rates are now and are only going up?

Thanks for any help!

My husband got a rate of 267$ for 8 days for a minivan at National. I think that is pretty good. You can stack certain coupons. He usually does entertainment coupon and whatever else he can find online. He always books it and then continues to look for better deals. You can always cancel a reservation without penalty and they don't charge your card until you go so I say if you find a decent rate, book it and continue to check.

Rates seem to drop about a week ago, but mostly for the smaller cars - compact to mid-size. I have a mid-size rental through Dollar for 8 days @ $232.00 with no codes or coupons. Thrify was about the same price. I will keep checking to see if rates drop further and to see if I can get a larger car, as current prices for cars above a mid-size are still very high.

Alamo- we used a mousesavers code with visa card- 2 weeks compact car 337.00 with all fees,I don't think we can do cheaper than that

Today National is showing up at $713. You got a great deal. Could you get your husband to share his secrets? THANKS!

The last week of September I had a compact (I think it was a compact.....it was the next step up from the smallest available) for $130 for 7 days. I got this through priceline after a couple of tries. I guess I'll go that route if nothing better comes up. I'm shooting for around $100 or else I'll just rely on Disney transportation.

I just got an unlimited mileage mini van from Alamo through Priceline for $30 a day. Total for 8 days = $347. Came out to be $304 a week, a great deal in my book.
Alamo is in the airport, so no shuttle. I've always had great deals on car rentals from Priceline and never a problem.
BTW, my first bid of $28 was rejected two days ago.
The retail rate on the Alamo website is $743. for the 8 days.
The next best deal I found was through Southwest Airlines at $389.

So far: lovely 5 bedroom 4 bath pool home very close to WDW w/tax and pool heat $1,000
Southwest Airlines Chicago to MCO $75 per person each way.
Mini Van: $304 a week.
Where else can I find a deal?
