I HAVE RECEIVED AN OFFER ( CODE) FOR jANUARY/ fEBRUARY BUT AM UNSURE AS TO THE WEATHER. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY INSIGHT? IS THIS A GOOD TIME TO GO? THANKS.

If you want to avoid the crowds, avoid January and February around the two federal holiday weekends. Otherwise, the crowds are pretty manageable. The weather can be a toss-up. On our February trip two years ago, it was in the high 60's, too cold to swim (for me, anyway!:scared1: ), but great for touring the parks and shopping. On a January trip several years back, the temps were actually in the 40's (we used the heater in our room! ). Temps in Central Florida seem to be trending warmer these days though. If you are just looking to tour the parks and swimming is not critical to you, I would definitely go.

Hi Lou-Ann,

I'm afraid none of us can give you definite news about the weather...January and February are completely unpredictable. You could have warm days with cool mornings or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or somewhere in between.

Even with uncertain weather, it's a great time to go and my favorite time of year to go! There's no humidity at all and the crowds are probably at their lowest (except around MLK and President's day).

In January of 2003, there was a cold snap. That night it dipped down to 28 degrees! The next morning we heard one of the CM's at the Wilderness Lodge bus stop say it hadn't gotten above 35 degrees yet! We froze that day because none of us were prepared with heavy winter coats, hats or mittens! Pack for any kind of weather to be on the safe side.

January is a great time of year to attend! The crowds are super-low and the weather is cool. We wore jeans and long-sleeved shirts/sweaters during the day plus jackets in the evening. The only drawback is that the parks close fairly early that time of year. It didn't bother us much though as we'd just plan to eat late dinners or head to DTD for shopping.

When we went in the end of January this year, the first 3 days it was in the 80s. After that, it went down to about 65. It was fine - I just brought a sweatshirt those last 3 days.

Oh yeah - and it was EMPTY. We didn't wait on one line the entire time we were there. Still couldn't get an ADR for Chef Mickey's, though! ;)
