January 8, 2006- 4 night Wonder- Anybody else coming with?

I was reading on the other site that plenty o' people for Dec. cruises didn't get their assignments until 2-3 weeks out :earseek: Nooo! Oh the horror! ;)

So we could be looking at 2+ more weeks before we know. I feel like I've got some gigantic DCL people peering down at me as I circle the maze looking for the cheese :teeth:

I posted a poll on the main page asking when people have received theirs in the past. Ok, so I'm doing everything I can to avoid studying ;)

I was wondering how or if the holidays will affect when Disney sends out the documents :confused3

I was hoping maybe they would send them out a little earlier just to be sure that they all arrive on time ;)

I was just scanning the general cruise posts and wanted to share - if you have not already seen this thread, it's worth a look: "Wonder and Magic at CC Together." Over Thanksgiving, the Wonder passed CC while the Magic was docked, and folks on both ships have posted photos! :Pinkbounc

It's quite a thrill to take a look at both ships so close together. It just made me smile and feel all the more anxious to get on board. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!! :goodvibes

Okay, I finally broke down and checked the website. I just couldn't take the pressure anymore  Nothing new to report.

I am bursting with excitement about this cruise. We still haven't told the girls were doing it. My DH wants the whole thing to be a surprise. He even wants to pretend we are driving to my brother's house instead of DW. I have almost slipped so many times. They talk about going to DW on a daily basis and I have to pretend like it isn't going to happen for at least a year or two.

We also scheduled the Atlantis tour, but I don't remember what time. I've done it at night (and it was free - we were visiting the casino and walked right in) and thought the kids would love it.

We are in denial about Christmas. Or we are skipping it this year as much as we can. We planned to be in our new house by Halloween and had grand dreams about our first christmas in the new house. Well, here we are still in rental hell with no closing date in sight. Our travel agent is convinced the house will be ready to close while we are on vacation. I finally bought a cheap artificial tree so the kids had something to decorate. Don't know where any of our tree decorations are so they are making them. Its cute, but not the same. We have no Santa Clauses, no nutcrackers, no garlands, no wreaths, no nothing! It's even worse because my family takes turns traveling to my house and my sister's house for the holidays. It's my sister's turn to host and we can't even go since DH starts new job tomorrow. So we will be here all alone with our pathetic christmas tree. Am I having a pity party or what? Next year we are going to have the best Christmas ever...I am going to start decorating in October so I have enough time to enjoy it and cover every square inch in decorations.

What's worse is the house is completely done! Who needs electricity, gas, and water. They're all overrated. Just give me a port-a-potty, bottled water, and a generator and were good! Someday....

branv, What a great idea with the poll...Hope that you get lots of responses so that maybe we can all have an idea of when to expect our info...

Like all of you, I have been checking the DCL site as much as I possible can, but it's still the same!!

attagirl-I'm sorry to hear that you're not going to be in your house by Christmas. I hope that you and the family are able to make the best of it where you are now. It's just going to make next Christmas much sweeter for you. I can't imagine how surprised the girls are going to be when they find out. It would be REALLY, REALLY hard for me to keep it a secret!!

Hope you all are having a WONDERful day. I can't belive that we are under 40 days now!!

Does anyone have plans for post-cruise. I just realized that we will be getting off the ship on Thursday, so we will have Friday and Saturday to stick around and do some fun things if we want. Saturday is actually the DH's birthday, so I would love to find something fun to do. I would love to be able to visit WDW, but I don't think that we will really have the time. I want to wait and come back when we can really do more there.

Attagirl, I'm so sorry you're not in your house yet and having to do a bare bones Christmas. When we moved into our house last year, it was a week before Christmas and I couldn't decorate either. Kinda stinks.

So is anyone else watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer right now? I almost missed it, just happened to be flipping channels and caught it. I watched "Christmas Story" while I was doing the tree this weekend, and Charlie Brown Christmas comes on next Tuesday...just have to see Frosty and "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and I will be in full junkie Christmas mode. Funny how we never outgrow this...though isn't it weird how early they play Christmas shows these days? I swear when I was a kid they played much closer to xmas, but mebbe I'm remembering wrong.

Oooh, Bumble is on, gotta go! ;)

My favorite is "The Year Without a Santa Claus" - it has the heat miser and his brother. I have a lot of the oldie but goodie Christmas movies on tape and have brainwashed my children into thinking they are just as wonderful as I think they are :)

I know how frustrating that is! We lived in a single wide rental trailer while we were waiting for our house to be built... it was crazy small! It was supposed take about 6 months to build and for us to move in, but it took exactly one year and a day! We did get in right before Thanksgiving... and were supposed to have Thanksgiving at the new house but stove wouldn't work! (They put on the attachment for natural gas, but we had propane! It did get fixed the day before, thankfully).

Anyway, we had a tiny 3 foot tree from Walmart w/ tiny decorations. You will look back and laugh when you are finally in your new house!

Hi guys! Have a great couple of days. We're off to Disneyland!! We will be seeing the Candle Light Precession.
Maybe we will have our cabin assignments by the time we return. One can only hope. :rotfl:

Talked to the construction supervisor today about the house...his best guess is that our builder will want us to close by Dec. 31 (ya know the end of the year push). But he doesn't think he can really have the house ready by then. Hopefully we will have electricity by the 15, but no tellling when we will have gas. They're trying to be creative and give us electric heat and waterheater until the gaslines are in. That sounds like it will be a pain for us when they are ready to change it back...if they really will. I told him we are going out of town from the 3rd til the 12th of January. I also told him that we will not close on Dec 31 because there is no way for us to be out of the rental by Jan.1 therefore I will have to pay Jan rent. So it looks like the earliest will be Jan 13 that we can move. I am going to force my DH to dig through the mountains of boxes and find some stuff so we can live a little more comfortably. Maybe even find some Christmas stuff!

The good news is that I was so depressed, I booked a trip to Disneyland in September today! Staying at the Grand Californian. That will put a dent in the pocketbook, but something worth looking forward to. Booking a trip definitely boosts the serotonin levels in my brain. :Pinkbounc

My family and friends are going to think I am crazy for doing two disney trips in the same year...let them know what I've known for years :rotfl2:

Yikes I about had a stroke or something tonight.

I called DCL earlier today to ask about putting our daughter on the cruise with us (the price was ridiculous to add her, for my husband and myself we paid 865 to add my daughter they wanted an additional 1482.89. :earseek: ) Needless to say, I don't think she will be coming along.

Anyways, I checked the site tonight to see if the cabin numbers have been assigned (I know, some people need to get a life :rotfl2: ) and I nearly fell over because beside our cabin category it now say WTL

I checked my parents booking and it is still fine.

I called DCL a bit ago and she said because I called to ask a question when the CM pulled up my booking the computer automatically kicked it into waitlist mode :confused3

Unfortunately she said she can't fix it for me tonight it will have to be done by someone tomorrow. I'm about sweating buckets here but she tells me it will be fine, my cabin will still be there, my reservation will be okay . I am understandably nervous about it.

How the heck am I supposed to function until they call me...... tomorrow afternoon !?!?!?!??!

I sure hope it gets fixed all right. My luck they will give my cabin away to some one tonight and I will be out of luck. Oh well, think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, think..............

Wait.........

maybe they will give my cabin away and have to give me the Walt Disney Suite instead :teeth:

Oh, well, I can always dream :cloud9:

I sure am glad that I checked the website though and found it quickly because I don't know what would have happened if I didn't :guilty:

Oh sure, they're soooo quick to kick you into WTL mode, but take their own sweet darn time to give the room numbers out ;)

I'm sure it will be fine, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for that Walt Disney Suite for you :)

Yes, I'm sure it will be fine too since there are plenty of categories of cabins left by the looks of it.

I saw some from Cat 4 or 5 to Cat 11, so there should be something left there tomorrow.

I can still dream about the ultimate upgrade though ;) , you know, for pain, suffering and stress that was caused to me by waitlisting my cabin :teeth:

Yikes, I can understand you being so nervous...I imagine that I would be the same way. Make sure and let us know as soon as DCL calls you to get the problem fixed. I don't see how they could very well justify giving your cabin to someone else when you made your ressie eons ago!! LOL!! Hey, the idea about the Walt Suite wasn't a bad one!!! :teeth:

There should definitely be an upgrade involved for your pain and suffering! If I were you, I'd call back just to check on the WTL status and jokingly mention an upgrade. You never know if the person on the other end of the phone has the ability to spread a little pixie dust!

The CM I talked with last night gave me the name of the person who is supposed to call me today. I got the impression that she is some sort of a supervisor :confused3

Maybe I will try mentioning that upgrade when she calls me ;)

Of course mentioning the upgrade could guarantee me that I WON'T get one, I suppose :rotfl:

Not if you are very pleasant and understanding about the whole situation and then CASUALLY mention the upgrade. The worst thing would be you wouldn't get an immediate upgrade. I seriously doubt you'd be flagged not to receive any upgrade if they are available later.

The only concern I would have is how they do the upgrades later. Is it by who has booked first? If so, where are you now in that line-up? Is it like you just made your reservation yesterday or does it still have your original booking date linked to your reservation.

Wow, my internet/cable has been out almost all morning until just now.

Do you know how hard that is :faint:

Just checked the DCL site and the problem has not been fixed yet, so hopefully I will hear from the proper person soon, to put me out of my misery ;)

I just called DCL and spoke to the person who was supposed to call me today and she says it is all fixed now.

I can't get on the DCL reservations check area so I can't check for sure yet but I will as soon as I can.

She asked is she could do anything else for me and I said "no, not unless you can get me into the Walter Disney Suite?" She laughed and said category one, yes that would be wonderful wouldn't it ;)

I'm just happy that all is back the way it is supposed to be.
