Getting close now!! I was wondering if anyone is planning to do the Castaway Cay 5K?

I believe my sons and my son's girlfriend are going to do it. I know my husband was planning on it but is now having difficulties with his heel, so he is out. My husband did it in May and enjoyed it. I am more of a hmmmm....maybe one could say "lazy bones," so I will just grab chairs at the beach

Does anyone know what the rules are about drinking alcohol? I saw somewhere it says no public drinking so wasn't sure if that means we can't make drinks and bring them by pool etc.

From what I have read, you can bring alcohol on board in a carry-on bag only and it must be consumed in your stateroom. Not sure that they have people checking your cups by the pool, though

I am planning to do it, but it will be more of a walk than a run for me! At least one of my daughters is going to do it with me. The other one may do it too if her asthma isn't acting up. DH doesn't seem to be interested.

So busy working on laundry, packing, and finishing up FE gifts! We leave in 6 days!

weDisney4 any word on a room? Hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!! We are supposed to be going to a NYE party but I think we may skip as I know one of the possible guest's family just had flu and I am feeling paranoid...not wanting to take any chances of getting sick before the trip (is that horrible of me?)!!!! If I don't get to post before the cruise...Safe traveling to all and....See you there!

Just found out about this site today at work ... New to the DISboard party, but not new to Disney . We are too late for the FE exchange but I'm hoping to get some door decorations together before we head down!

This will be our second Disney cruise, the first was 9 years ago on the Magic. We're AP holders so lots of park time but little cruise time under our belts.

We are heading to the airport now, trudging through the snow! FE stuff is all packed. I even managed to get about 3 hours of sleep last night! Will be running on sugar, caffeine, and adrenaline today.

We are on our way! Staying at the Wyndham today! On board tomorrow! I hope we can all meet up on the Dream! Maybe we can meet on Castaway Cay January 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 am near the picnic tables! Just a suggestion! Or we can meet on the ship before or after breakfast or dinner Sunday or Monday! We had a lot of fun delivering gifts and checking our FE for goodies everyday! I hope all the girls liked their purses. We discovered some issues with the strap hardware after my girls started using theirs, so I will have to try something different in the future. My girls saw one of the families in the theater using their drink carrier and their little girl using her purse, so that was exciting! We enjoyed everything we received too!

The weather was certainly disappointing. My dad was in the room watching CNN a lot, and he said it was below freezing in every state in the US including Hawaii on Tuesday. We will always remember that because it was the coldest nastiest day on Castaway Cay we ever could have imagined! If we ever go again, I guess it won't be in January. Glad we missed the arctic blast at home, but never guessed the weather that far south would have been affected. Didn't get to make use of the verandah much, but at least it was nice and warm in Nassau.

Hi everyone, I agree the FE was wonderful and thanks for all the generosity! We too, will never again go in January! We did miss some extremely cold weather at home (schools were closed on both Monday and Tuesday) but while we had a good time...I was happy to get back home (except for the pile of laundry I now have). Thanks again and I hope everyone liked their Mickey chalkboards!

Thank you for all the great FE gifts! My 3 girls loved their purses . We used our drink carrier in the theater, too--such a great idea! The chalkboard was adorable

We wish the weather had been better, too. It just means we need to plan our next cruise to have another day at Castaway Cay

We have cruised in January before, it works for our kids' school schedules. Our last cruise was beautiful weather! We were bummed that our excursion was cancelled but still enjoyed ourselves. I loved both Frozen and Saving Mr. Banks! The live action shows were cute too, especially the Villains show, our teens loved it.

Definitely participating in FE's next time, sounds like a lot of fun!

Hope everyone had a great time!!! I know my family and I did!! This was our second cruise! We sailed on the wonder before in july and on that cruise the day at castaway cay things were canceled due to bad rain!! So we were soo looking forward to enjoying it this time Looks like we have to plan another one!! Anyone sailed in sept before?!

My entire family and I enjoyed every gift! We will use the mickey mouse cookie cut out and recipe this weekend because we love to bake! My DD greeted the Princesses in their Cinderella dresses and wore their personalized purses and lite up bracelets! Each day, my 3 DD would run up to their stateroom to use or eat one of their FE gifts! So, thank you again for making our trip very special!

Some other highlights of our trip:
My 3 DD enjoyed watching Frozen 2D and my oldest returned for a second time to watch it in 3D with her new found friend Isabella! My twin girls enjoyed participating as two of the dwarfs in The Golden Mickeys while my oldest daughter and one of my twin daughters enjoyed being interviewed on the red carpet! My husband and I enjoyed the exceptional food and service at Palo's for brunch!
Sad Moments:
One of my twin DD and I experienced motion sickness 3 nights in a row!
We were all disappointed when we were confronted with cold windy and rainy weather and were unable to spend quality time on the beach at Castaway Cay.
I wish Tinkerbell could grant another magical day to play at Castaway Cay (returning Friday instead of Thursday)!
