January 4, 2003!!!!

CindyAnn, we're right down the hall from you, in 6034. We have a DD7 and DS5, so we're sure to run into each other!

Getting the swim stuff in Key West sounds like a great idea to me--I didn't know what to do for sandals, so I ordered them as part of our "Welcome basket" form The Perfect Gift. My kids' swim shoes will still fit, but their sandals form last summer are in pretty rough shape. If Perfect Gift doesn't come through, I'll be with you, looking for the Key West Wal-Mart! I figure, it's not worth spending a ton of $$, they'll probably have outgrown them (again!) by the time the snow melts!

They're located at www.theperfectgift.cc . The web page shows lots of nice baskets, and has a phone number to call for personalized stuff. I got 1 basket for the four of us--mostly for the kids, but I threw in a book for myself and a 6-pack of beer for DH.

I have used Shirley at the Perfect Gift twice already...She really does a wonderful job. Don't hesitate in using her!!!

On shopping in Key West....I do not remember what store it was in but I was looking for a floor length, sleevless swim coverup. I found one in a store but it was $30. I then found it in another store and it was not marked..I asked the sales clerk how much and she told me $22....Ok, much better than $30!!! Well I try it on and then go up the register to pay and the woman behind the counter tells me $32 (including tax). I questioned her because the other sales clerk told me $22 plus tax....all of a sudden the sales clerk that was helping me says she never told me $22. My husband and I both heard her say it. I promptly turned around and was about to leave when they said ""ooohhh, wait... we will give it to you this time, blah, blah, blah. so just make sure you have them repeat a price just so you know how much you are going to pay. I have heard this happen to a few people on our trip. I really do think they were playing a scam.

BUZZNBELLE'SMOM - See you at Walmart!!

:p :p :p

I don't know about your kids but my DD5 is growing out of everything. You'd never guess she was only 4 lb. 5 oz. at birth.

Hoping to see you all onboard.

Okay my hubby now refers to me as the "addict". We just got home and I'm already on line checking the DIS! DD and myself just went to see Maid in Manhattan. It was pretty good. Anyone know what movies are showing on board? I know Sweet Home Alabama was showing. Hopefully it still is. Haven't seen that one yet. Also found a great deal on a floor length black dress with wrap at Dillards for just 73.00 on clearance! Was pretty excited about that! Yes it is very hard to focus on Christmas with the cruise on the horizon. Well better make dinner before DH cancels on line service!!!

Hey fellow cruisers.....I happend to find that picture of all the shoes my girls and their friends took on our last cruise. Now, mind you this is only some of them....they still had some in the closet and they had them lined all along the top of the couch as well!!!! I counted 26 pair just in the photo, so my earlier estimate of 30 was much too low!!!!LOL

Wow, I feel like such the anti-girl! I generally bring a pair of basic black for formals, a pair of black loafers for other dinners and tevas for all else. Our problem with packing is that we are going to be at WDW for a week in January, which means the weather can vary from the 20's to the 80's and we have to be prepared for it all. Holy heavy suitcase, batman! I can't believe we are leaving in 12 days!

Lisa

Well, Lisa...do not feel like the anti-girl!!! Unlike my teen DD's I only bring one pair of dress shoes for formal, semi formal, a pair of beach sandals, sneakers and a pair of everyday sandals!! That's only four pair...not too bad!!!

Hey there, soon-to-be-cruise neighbors!

We'll be joining y'all too--me, husband and my best friend! Best of all worlds--best friend there for all the fun girlie stuff, and hubby for all the cool romantic stuff! 2nd cruise for BF and myself; we did a 3-day last year and found it way too short. This year the 7-day is a must, as well as bringing my husband. No one here can understand why we're going on a Disney cruise if we don't have kids. These poor, poor people. They're missing out on so much!

It's been a lot of fun reading all your postings. We're signed up for the stingray snorkeling in Grand Cayman and the Jeep off-roading in Cozumel. We're also keeping our fingers crossed that Harry Potter will be showing in the theater!

TWO WEEKS FROM SATURDAY..... but who's counting! ha! :D

I will be joining you all on the cruise. It's just me travelling all alone.

Even though I only cruised recently (on October 19th Eastern), I just couldn't resist the low rates and can't wait to do the Western!!!

I'm in catagory 11 but have no idea which stateroom i'll be in (I'm on GTY status), but I'm hoping for deck 6 aft (my favourite location, close to the food!!!)

Ooooh, I'm so excited!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Can someone tell me again the web site for "A Perfect Gift"? I tried perfectgift.cc but that did not work.

WELCOME DCBLOND AND DISNEYLAND DARREN!!!!

We sure are becoming quite a group of DIS'ers!!!!! Any of you guys coming in the night before and staying at the Radisson??? I think we are trying to meet around 8:00 pm by the pool.

MJ

Thank you for the warm welcome! Actually, our group is coming in late (11pm or later), so we're just crashing at the airport HoJo, where we found rooms for $39. But I am quite, quite sure we'll run into you on board. We're taking the first cruise bus from the airport, which we hear may leave as early as 9am Saturday.

We'll be on Deck 7, although we're all not-so-secretly hoping for a last-minute upgrade like we got last year, from an 8 to a 6 (that balcony was glorious, but not quite glorious enough to pay for it this go-round!). This will otherwise be our first time with a porthole window, but are counting on not being in the room much.

I can't believe it's two weeks away... as my best friend said, Just think, this is the last full week we are working until January 13!

I heard something about difficulty docking at Castaway Cay during the winter. Do you know if that's generally true for the time we'll be there?

We have sailed DCL 6 times already, Oct, Feb, Jul, Aug.....we always made it to Castaway Cay. I am hoping for lucky #7 this time around as well. I guess you can never predict the weather....but let's all keep our fingers crossed...it really is a treat to get there!!!

MJ

mmouse37 - Thankyou for the welcome also!!!

Unfortunatly I'm arriving quite late the night before also so I'm staying at the Hyatt at Orlando International. Then getting the DCL bus to the terminal also. I was nearly going to stay at WDW the night before but my flights have been changed :( .

Has anyone planned any Dis Meets once we are on-board?

Our 3-day was in May 2001--and wouldn't you know it, it RAINED the day we were at Castaway Cay. We went out and splashed in the waves anyway because hey, it's Paradise, so even the rain is gorgeous. But we're hoping for blue skies this time. We'll keep our fingers crossed too!

It's time to get serious about a meet to include those who will not be staying at the Radisson the night prior. For those of you who have participated in such an event, any suggestions? Would the terminal be too hectic or should we try for a time during our first day at sea?
We were in Orlando over the weekend and I hate to complain about the cold weather - I can hear the sneers from all over the country - but, it was downright nippy (this being said from a former Coloradoan). I hope that conditions improve dramatically before everyone heads down.
17 Days!!!
Dawn Hope

DCBlonde - you are so lucky to have your best friend with you! We had hoped to coordinate a surprise meeting of my best friend and our 2 dd' s on this cruise,(also best friends!) but it is not to be...sigh...would have picked our spirits up considerably.
Dawn- ummm....when you say "nippy", what should we expect? Like light jacket/sweater weather? We are packing in 2 days as we are spending 2+ weeks at AKL before the cruise, and I was wondering if we needed hoodies and the like...any info?
Shoe fetish girls- Saw an amazing shoe holder thingee at Winners(Cdn equivalent to TJMaxx) Holds 10-15 pairs of shoes!!!And get this, it hangs in the closet, so they're not going to fall off the over the door type! :p

As far as a Dis meet goes, what about sail away party? Will everyone be finished getting spa/Palo/whatever ressies in time, though? We are going early by towncar, as we also have pier pickup for docs...

Anyone staying at AKL before cruise??
