We (Me, DH, DD(10)) just booked the cruise. Our first ever! We are all very excited.

I love the idea of the FE (please add us to the list) and meeting other families on the first day. It's almost as if you have already friends on the ship.

What do you think about meeting up in the port terminal before boarding? I am planning on arriving around 10am but I was thinking of having a DIS meet at 11ish. This way we will have time to do the room tour before the life boat drill and honestly after that I think it's going to be really difficult to meet because of all the onboard activities, excursions etc... If you are arriving at the port later, you can still meet up with us at the Promenade Lounge at 3:00. I figure we will just be waiting around anyway, so why not get acquainted while we wait party:

This might be a dumb question, but having never been on DCL before, are there things that need to be taken care of once you get on board? I know on Carnival everyone had to go and give their credit card info, and we are going to need to speak with the chef at some point about dietary issues, or do people add excursions right when they get on the boat? I'm just wondering if it will be too crazy right when you get on the boat. If not, meeting up will be fine. We are planning on getting to the boat ASAP as we will be spending the night before in San Pedro.

I love the idea of meeting at the port terminal! We plan on getting to the terminal at 10am and would love to meet up with those that are early.
I was worried about making the 3:00 meeting because honestly I am sure we will loss track of time when we step on that boat:yay:

Meeting before we board sounds fine, and maybe a better idea. I know we won't be there at 10 am but 11 or so would be better. It is our first cruise but I know we won't want to be there too early either.

We will try to be at the port around ten, so 11am sounds good. But as one never knows what happens it might be a good idea to also have a later meeting as well.

The only things that need to be dealt with asap onboard are dining times/Palo reservations that you may have missed or want changed, spa appts that couldn't be booked online, checking on sold-out excursions, booking wine, beer, tequila and martini tastings and tea with Alice tickets. I was thinking around 3 would be good because it gives people time to eat lunch, make ressies/changes, check out the kids' clubs etc... And it's an hour before the life boat drill. If we meet in the terminal and exchange info there then maybe the 3:00 get-together can be the room tour! Even better, bring a bottle of your favorite liquor onboard and we can do a room crawl :rotfl2: Warning: My favorite is Patron tequila:drinking1.

11 am for Dis Meet in the port terminal

3 pm meet & greet in Promenade Lounge

??? room tours ??? not sure of the time ....

4:00 Life Boat drills

That sounds great to us :thumbsup2

I agree with the idea of meeting in the terminal...will it be a nice terminal like the the one at PC? Hopefully it will be easy enough to find a spot to meet. I have never been to that terminal. I know once we get on the ship we go crazy so I am afraid we will loose track of time (after the drill of course).:rotfl:

How often are we to stuff everyone's FE? Is this daily? I need some ideas of goodies to bring onboard!:upsidedow

There's a thread on the forum about FE's. Some do one time and some twice, our group was not that active. We delivered twice to the FE.
