January 3, 2008 3 Night Wonder

 I'm on cloud 9:cloud9: Just completed our online checkin forms for the cruise. Also signed the boys up for the Wild Side on CC.:woohoo: Now if I can only get the next 75 days to go by a little faster;)

Yay! :yay: With all the holidays coming up, it will go by very quickly!

10 weeks from right now, we should be out at sea. The early dining group should be seated for dinner. New cruisers like us will probably exploring the ship, amazed at how big it is:eek: Won't be long now:woohoo:

Yahoo! Are you packed yet?

Yes you can pack already! I have lists of disney park hours, dining reservations, passports and documents already in the backpack ready to go, LOL! The cast off party is awesome fun and the sip will amaze you! It looks really big as you pull up to the port. This vacation is what's keeping me going these days. Keep up the countdown.....:beach: :mickeybar :tigger:

Hi gang. 9 more weeks til we sail. Watching Noel out in the Caribbean makes me even more sure that cruising in January is the best time to sail.:goodvibes

I just checked the DCL website and they still list cat 5 thru 12 staterooms available. There's still time for others to join our small band of sailors.:hourglass

It might be soooo nice to be on a quiet ship!

BTW, our passports arrived about 15 days after they were mailed and that was not expedited. Now we are really excited. I guess that I should say that DH and I are really excited b/c the kids wont know about the cruise until Christmas morning.

What do ya'll think the weather will be like?

Did the Wonder sail today even with Noel?

Our friends' DD who is going with us got her passport last week. We applied a week after her, so hoping ours will be here SOON!

I was on the DCL website too, thinking that upgrading to a verandah stateroom would be very nice. :cloud9: But we were happy with our non-verandah stateroom last time, so maybe I will hold out for a verandah when we can do a longer trip.

The girls still have no clue! I'm going to try to get by Build-A-Bear to see if they still have the B-A-B pirate costume -- thinking of dressing up one of DD's critters to help announce the surprise. :santa: :yay:

The kids in both of your families are going to be so surprised when they find out about the cruise.:woohoo: Also good to hear everyone is getting their passports with plenty of time to spare.:goodvibes See you all very soon:banana:

We received the last passport today so that means that it was a max wiat time of less than 3 weeks. Not bad!

Anyone have an idea of what the weather is typically like in Jan. for a cruise?

Today I bought several short sleeve tees (while they were still available in the store) and a NorthFace winter parka. I am ready for any weather!!

I hope it isn't so cold we can't even stand to be out on deck, but I don't expect 80's weather either. We too will pack a variety of clothes for any weather condition. And I will keep close watch on weather.com as to what may be headed our way while we cruise. We leave home on the 30th of December for HHI, but until then I will post here on our thread what the experts are predicting for our cruise.

We were at HHI last weekend for the first time (DVC) and absolutely fell in love with the resort!

Thank you for the weather updates. 80s would be nice!:goodvibes

So I Googled "Who's going on the Disney Wonder on January 3, 2008?" and stumbled upon this nice forum.

This is my family's first cruise, mostly because my dad was afraid the boat would sink and he doesn't know how to swim, haha...but my mom eventually convinced him.

Anyways, the main reason why I searched for others who would be cruising on the Wonder on Jan. 3 was because I'm afraid that I might not be that interested in this Disney cruise. I'm a university student myself, 19 years old, who's going with my sister, who's 22, and my parents. I doubt I'll be spending much time with my parents while on board, other than meals, and the odd family activity, so I thought I could find some other people on board who are comparable in age. I was doing some research on the DCL site, and it seems their are clubs/hangouts for teens, about 13 - 17, then bars and restaurants for the older folk, so I'm worried that I might be caught in between, with not much to do....not that I have a problem hanging out with 15/16 year olds plus.

And could someone help me out with these abbreviations? DW, DD, DS?!? Lol, I have no clue what they mean....

Ahhh, so I just read through this whole thread....I'm pretty sure I've got the abbreviations down. DH = Disney Husband, DW = Disney Wife, DD = Disney Daughter, DS = Disney Son....etc. etc....at least I think that's what they mean, haha....

Welcome Sammys987! I am sure that you wont feel "in between" for long and will find some great people to hang out with. Thats the great thing about Disney cruises (and Disney in general), there is something for everyone.

See you in January! :goodvibes

Hi Sammy. Welcome to our small but enthusiastic group of cruisers. This will be our families first cruise also. We are so excited. I echo Global Mom's thoughts that I'm sure you'll find plenty to keep you occupied during the cruise. I hope the teen area will allow you to join in, I see no reason why you couldn't. And you got the abbreviations correct. Look forward to meeting you onboard.:goodvibes

Welcome, Sammy! You will find plenty of fun things to do on the cruise. You are old enough to enjoy the spa if you like that sort of thing.

My passport arrived! :cool1: Still waiting for DD's. Hope we don't have to leave her standing on the dock. :rotfl2:

I have been crossing fingers that a Fla. resident discount would materialize for this cruise. I noticed that today discounts are being offered for the cruise a week after ours. Drat. Must be very new as it is not on Mousesavers yet, but it is on the Disboard! :disrocks:
