January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Hi all...

Binky1 had sent me a pm to update some FE info, so for those of you keeping score at home, there are some corrections to be made. Again, a complete, finalized list will be available sometime after the FE sign-up period closes next month. Hope everyone in the United States has a great Thanksgiving...we know we will. It will be our 2nd wedding anniversary, and we're thinking of going out to Sea World for the day :banana::banana:

Happy anniversary and hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving!:goodvibes

Binky1...Did you have a guanateed room?

When do we usually get our room assignments?

:lmao:
Hey...ANYTHING will be warmer than what we'll have in Michigan!! :lmao:

Same here...anything is warmer than Ontario in Jan/Feb...although last year we went on a cruise and it was not much warmer in Florida than it was there....:scared1: I know that was not normal......but we were going on our first cruise ever in Feb....

Thanks for the update on the FE. It's so exciting. We have gathered alot of stuff together and are working on making our FE itself !

Binky, you got your room assignment? Still waiting for ours. Congrats! :cheer2:

It's been freezing here in Ottawa too. Santa Claus parade was so COLD-it was the first nighttime parade I remember (-9)and so my DD and I cheated-we ran up the route and saw Santa that way! :rotfl: We were about frozen when we got home! Only a small snowfall so far but alot of freezing rain yesterday.

Happy Anniversary Matt and wife and a great big Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends! Enjoy your long weekend

It is just cheaper to use electricity at certain times of the day. That is what the smart meters do. They know when you use what and there is a different rate. So Now we are on winter hours so our peak hours are from 7 am until 11 , then 5- 9pm. This means if you wash or run the dishwasher at these times you pay 9.3 cents /kwh , but if you wait and do your stuff after 9 you pay 4.4 cents. There is also a mid peak which is 8 cents that is 11:00 am - 5pm.

This is so we use our power when most factory and work places are not using theirs. :confused3

We are on winter hours , in May it changes to summer hours. I did hear they were going to change the 9:00pm to 7:00 pm in the spring. Oh and all weekend it is off peak hours. But I was away all weekend so I was up until 1:30 doing my wash. So much for being a SAHM and getting stuff done.

I had no idea! I know our rates vary depending on time-of-day, but they aren't all that different. Thanks for sharing!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S. too!

You guys scared me I thought it was Thursday already and I missed a few days. :lmao:

But I know some of you will be traveling so Happy Thanksgiving to you and safe travels if you are traveling this holiday.

schimj-- Happy 2nd Anniversary!!

Can't believe how mild it is out this morning for Nov. I know it is suppose to get colder as the day goes on but I am loving this.

Hi all,
Long time since I've been on here but just wanted to let you know that no, we weren't in GTY rooms - I just hadn't provided that info the first time around.

I've just spent the last day catching up on all the posts - you sound like a terrific bunch and lots of fellow Canadians as well!! Our travel party includes DH & myself, DD10, DD5, my BIL and his wife, DD10, DD8 and a friend and his DD12 - we have 3 cabins in a row (two of which are connecting).

This will be our third Disney cruise and we love them. Our family will be going down a few days early to visit Harry Potter World at Universal Studios & then meeting up with the rest of the group Sat morning & head out to PC together. Anybody get any good deals on rental cars??

Cheers,
Lisa

Biinky...just to let you know, when you do Alamo put returning to Melbourne Airport. You will drop the car off to Enterprise on N Atlantic Ave. They are affiliated with Alamo and they do the returns for Alamo. It is just the same as returning anywhere else, no hassles at all. I did it in the summer and am doing it again for this trip.:thumbsup2

What are you guys talking about? Can you only do laundry at certain times? :confused3

Ontario's Hydro has developed a program where its cheaper to use electricity at "off hours" and more expensive at peak times.

So its cheaper for my to run my dishwasher between 9pm and 7am than it is during the day. so it makes sense to do do laundry on weekends rather than Mon-Fri

We just had our SMART meter installed this week. I knew everyone in town had been getting them so it was just a matter of time. I just got all new appliances recently so I made sure I got the feature with time delays. My diswasher runs at bedtime and I unload it when I am waiting for the coffee to brew in the morning at 5:30. Same with the washer and put it is to dry in the morning. Just means I have to be a little more organized.
I did hear that they are doing a time shift and will be changing to 7PM.

WOW - you can set your washing machine to run at night time -thats cool - I dont have that!!
