January 29, 2011 - 7 Day Eastern - WOOHOO!!

Welcome Jerelle! This is our 2nd disney cruise, once you have done 1 you will be back to planning for the next one! DLC is awesome!:dance3:

Disney people are good people aren't they? Regarding my teen girl, this is why I joined. The last two cruises we were on, my shy girl was keen to visit the teen clubs but never really spent alot of time there. She is one of only two girls in her class of 22, so the likelihood of her hanging out with your teen son is very good. Don't fret: the teens on the other cruises were all hanging out together. :dance3:

My teenage son is 13 but people think he is much older because he very tall. 5'11 to be exact. And he has or should I say had Joe Jonas hair when it was longer and curly. Last curise he spent a lot of time in the Quest. He is a social butterfly....:lmao:

I have been booked on this cruise since last March and coming to this site for info for sevral months, but finally decided to post! Myself, DH, DS 8, DD 4 and DS who will be 9 months when we sail as well as SIL, MIL and FIL are on the cruise. I was super excited because Disney honored the kids sail free on our already booked rooms so it was great to save money on a trip we already planned!

My husband and I have cruised a lot, although this is only our second Disney - last time was when the oldest two were 4 and 6 months so it hass been four years.

We are getting super excited!:cool1:

It is so exciting to see quite a few little DDs who will be 4!! My DD will be so excited! She is drawn to other little girls!!

AND, there are a couple of little ones around Natalie's age! (9 mths). Are you guys with the little ones going to be reserving Flounder's time? I'm thinking we will, but I don't know if we'll use it or not.

We are reserving Flounder's time. We sailed with Disney when DD was 7 mos and found that the evenings were too much for her. After the first night, we put her in Flounder's right after dinner and picked her up after the show (we were Main seating). She was much happier - they put her in her PJs and she went to sleep! I think it depends upon your kids regular bedtimes (my babies have always gone to sleep around 7:30) and their tolerance for noise and if you plan on doing the shows or not. My daughter was especially sensitive to noise as a baby and hated the commotion of the shows.

You are from Michigan right? My husband's family are all from Michigan (although no one lives thre now!)

I'm thinking we will try to book it for dinner 2-3 times and send Meredith to the club for dinner times most of the evenings--she never sits through dinner and I understand the Cruise dinners take even longer. :P I think I read somewhere that the club has a dinner option or picks them up during dinner? I better check into that again. :)

We are planning on using Flounder's for our 2 year old DD while we are at the spa and while going to Palo.

Well I think we must be nuts or just taking advantage of a great situation...we are extending our holiday before the cruise and just booked 5 days at All Star Music!!! I am so excited, we get to get all moused up before the cruise! My husband is going to go insane, but oh well!!!

I wish my husband would go insane.:lmao:

We have to get the kids back to school though, so I know that will not happen.

Fun! We booked Beach Club Villas for the night before. We just got a letter saying that the slides will be down for maintenance which is a little bit of a bummer, but...that's okay. :)

Bummed that we won't be visiting the mouse before or after the cruise, but super pleased that we were able to cross off a lot of to-dos last night and today and just get to do the countdown fun now. And work on FEs :cool1:

I've been picking up some FE gift stuff. :) Trying to decide whether to buy a FE or makeit myself. I'm thinking I'll get one off of ebay. :rotfl2:

We've been thinking about using Kids Nite Out, to watch the kiddos so we can have some adult time in DTD Friday night. Anyone else interested in sharing the sitter? http://www.kidsniteout.com/

I ordered our FE off of Etsy, got a response very quickly and am trying to figure out what I want on it. I ordered right before she left on her cruise, but I've heard that it takes about 3-4 weeks to get one.

We would love to share a sitter but will already be at Port Canaveral - we tried to figure out a way to get our luggage to the hotel and then go back to DTD, but it just seemed like a lot of time on the road. We are hoping we can just take it easy around the hotel and rest up for the boat!

Has anyone else decided what to do for excursions? We have decided to stick to the Disney excursions since this is our first cruise - makes me feel a little more comfortable.

For St. Maarten, we are thinking of doing the butterfly farm tour and then Magen's Bay Beach at St. Thomas. We wanted to go to Trunk Bay at St. John but the Disney excursion is only for 5 years old and up and we didn't want to do it on our own.

What is everyone else thinking about doing????

Not sure what excursions we will do but I know in St Maarten we will just take the boat taxi to the town. And wander the shops there. They have a beach you can go to right along the town as soon as you get off the taxi too that is nice. We honeymooned on this island. So one of the other cruises we took we went back to the resort we stayed at but it was hit by a hurricane and they never rebuild. It was called Mullet Bay. :sad2:

St. Thomas for us will be an early day since we are Canadian. We have to go though customs because we are going back into the U.S. So they get us up early and the whole family has to be there too , the kids usually go in the pj's because it is something like 6:00am .

hello every one first timer here, the DW booked us on this our first cruise and it's my DW (38) and DS (9) first Disney experience. Howell, MI is where we are headed in from. hope to see you all aboard.
