JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

We just booked for the Jan. 27 2007 cruise!

This will be our second sailing; we did the 7 night eastern last October. We booked this cruise with DVC points - this sailing is considered 'value season' so it was a way for us to maximize our points.

We may hit the parks for a few days before the sailing. Nice break from winter for us!

Anybody have any suggestions???

Oh sorry - for some reason the notification didn't work for this post! :confused3 Hopefully someone will have some suggestions for you. You could try staying onsite at Disney or right near the port. I would think with the Superbowl it would only be the airport hotel that would be affected here.

Welcome VA Mouseman and family!!!

Be sure to let us know if you are going to hit the parks ahead of time. I know both Taswira and I plan to do so as we are locals. The only day I am not likely to go is the day before.

I'm excited 'cause the tag now reads UNDER 9 months - it's getting closer!

Welcome! I added you to the listing on the first post of this thread and to our Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea cruiser list. If you would like more info added (first names, ages, main or late dining, stateroom, etc.) just PM me or e-mail to info@magicaldisney.com.

MoiMoi - Feel free to send me your info to be added to the cruiser list also, if you like. Right now it only has your user name. Thanks! :)

We're getting closer!!! :hourglass

By the way - my Passporter should be here any day now! I had ordered the Deluxe one from Amazon as with the discount and free shipping it was way less than the Passporter site. They, however, shipped theirs weeks ago. It was rumored that Amazon wouldn't be able to ship them until the end of June. But I got an email earlier this week telling me my Passporter was on the way!

So how is everyone doing during the looooong wait?

I received my Passporter from Amazon last week. Much cheaper for me to order from there too - even in Cdn $$. Have already read it cover to cover 3x - took it to the park, had it in the car & read while baby slept, even while nursing but baby keeps wanting to grab the pages.... :teeth: DD1 keeps wanting to go to the DIS boards to look at everyone's smiley faces and loves watching the Cruise DVD. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!!

My Passporter is probably here by now as I've always found Amazon to be fast shippers. I usually get an email telling me to expect a shipment within 7 to 10 days and it'll arrive in 3. I haven't had time to check my PO Box but will tomorrow. It's something exciting to look forward to since it's still 8 months+ until our cruise.

Taswira and I went to the Parks on Thursday and it was pretty nice - not as crowded as it was during Spring Break. Went to our favorite character meal at Garden Grill. If any of you are coming early and will spend a day or two at the parks - and want to do a character meal - I'd highly reccomend GG. I like it better than the other set ups as it's easier for the characters to come to each table as it's a huge circular restaurant that slowly revolves. There are different scenes around the restaurant. Funny, I've dined there many, many times and this was the first time I noticed the buffalo! :confused3

Any way, for those coming for our cruise - that will be a GREAT time to go to the parks as it will be one of the less crowded times of the year!

Hurry up cruise time!!!!! :hourglass

Yep - Garden Grill is the BEST atmosphere for character dining! :teeth:

BTW to all (even Holly): I got my hair cut, but then this morning I cut off even more of it myself. I have much shorter hair now. Of course, by the time of our cruise, it will probably be long again because I plan to let it grow. Just can't stand long hair in the smmer months anymore. :furious:

For anyone who buys the Deluxe Passporter edition, don't think you need to carry the entire HEAVY thing on your cruise. Remove the pages you REALLY will use (like the journal pages at the back and maybe the tips on little known activities onboard) and put those in an envelope to take. Most of the other info will be readily available onboard, including much larger maps of the ship, excursion info, daily activities in the Personal Navigator, and a big hard cover guide to the ship, dining, all ports and shopping will be in your stateroom (NOT for you to remove!). So read your Passporter thoroughly, but leave home what you don't need and you will be happier to have less weight and more space!

WDW has been great lately. I've been there three times in the last week and will be there tomorrow and Thursday. I guess some rain is expected this week, but we need it.

This is the weekend we tell my mother and father in law that they are coming with us on this cruise! I hope they are game for it! When we cruised this past Feb and seen all the families, it looked like so much fun to share with everyone in the family so we thought when we rebooked we would book for them too.........only we haven't told them yet. We plan to let them in on it this weekend. We bought them each a DCL pin, lanyard, we have the DCL travel planner DVD for them, a copy of their room reservastion minus the cost of course, a new edition Passporter, a copy of our Castaway Club Member CD and a copy of the downloaded "On My Way" (from Brother Bear) song that my kids fell in love with..........think that is enough??

I just hope they agree to come along with us, my FIL has Parkinsons and has gotten at least 10 years older in the past 3 years. He still does all that he always did, golfs, mows the lawn, housecleaning (yes, my FIL cleans house for his wife) only now he dies it with a tremor in his hand. My MIL is healthy but a bit of a hypocohondriac so this is why I say I hope they agree.......she will worry sick I think.

Wish us luck :cheer2: and I will keep you posted!

It sounds WONDERFUL! How could they not be elated about it?

Best of luck! I think after they view the DCL DVD and the Passporter and all, they will be anxiously looking forward to the cruise. :cool1:

Here's hoping they'll be excited too! After all, they are cruising with US! :lmao:

Okay....I'm a little nuts this morning - but....IT'S RAINING!!! Okay, doesn't sound that exciting UNLESS you live in Florida. I don't remember the last time it rained and with all the fires and stuff - we really need it. Hooray for rain! :cheer2:

Taswira...I wonder if "our puppy" has seen your photo...the one here in your DIS signature?

I have never been so happy to wake up to Thunder!! I am happy to see the rain myself! Hopefully the lightening will not cause any problems!

And waving right back at ya!

If you feel like it - tell us a bit about yourselves!

By the way - I DID just get my Passporter! Can't wait to look at it - just haven't had time yet - but will be able to do so later today. I love the box it comes in - nice box to put memorabilia in (as they say right on the box... :lmao: )

I was thinking of printing it out for him and taking it the next time I dine at GG. :teeth:

suzct - Glad to have you with us! At least, I assume you are with us since you subscribed. :) Feel free to send me your info to be added to the cruiser list. Take a look at the list and you can provide as much info to me as you would like to appear on it. When I hear from you I will also add you to the first post of this thread. You can PM me or e-mail to info@magicaldisney.com

We presented the cruise to my MIL and FIL yesterday, I was so worried they would not agree to go but they are so excited. We took their passport photo for them, my DH has them all printed off and ready so we just have to take them to the Post Office to get their passport info sent in and we should be good to go. I was so pleased at how excited they were, of course they said we shouldn't have spent the money on them. We told them they give so much to us and now we are in a position to give back and that is such a great feeling. Now I am really excited, I went back to my passporter to start reading up again - only a few more months to go right???? Well, okay more than a few but the way time is flying by it will be here before we know it. Can't wait to meet you all!! :Pinkbounc

That's Terrific!! :cheer2: I'm so glad that they are as excited about it!! You never know.... My MIL is coming along as well. I'm sure they will all have a terrific time.

I KNEW they would love the idea! What's not to like?

suzct - I saw on another thread that you were "considering" a cruise but had not yet booked. If you end up booking this one (and we hope you will!) just let me know and I'll add you to the list. :)

Only slightly OT as this relates to our cruise and I will explain via PM to those who answer, but does anyone here use MySpace?

Well, you already know I've just done a site on MySpace. I bet others on here do.

Wow, the DIS is slow tonight....
