WELCOME! I have added you to the cruiser list and to the first post of this thread, as well as to our cruise thread on the MDC. Please PM me any info you would like to add to your details on the cruiser list. Also, be sure to let us know if you will be bringing a Pal Mickey! :cool1:

Hi, Welcome to the board! At the time of the cruise, I will have DD11, DS7, DD4, and DS3months!

Would your DS7 like to exchange e-mails with my DS7 and then they'll already have a friend when they get on board?

Kim

Welcome, welcome!! To everyone else on this cruise, if you have a DD or DS that will be 6 at the time of the cruise, I have a DD6 who is also looking to make new friends!! She would love to know kids beforehand as well!! Tomorrow is Canada Day - woohoo and happy Independence Day to our neighbours to the south on the 4th!! Of course, I'm not thinking about any of these holidays - I'm planning my excursions on the Western :rotfl2: .... Cheers!!

hi, majorly and strongly considering joining the PM cruise. haven't confirmed but has courtesy reservations until next week.

question for anyone that has taken a cruise before that has difficulty walking/standing i.e. balance, neuropathy, ataxia, pain from walking/standing etc.... suggestions/hints on assuring this doesn't hamper ones time?

thanks

You and Glenna WILL go on this cruise! :beach: party: :mickeyjum

In our group there will be 3 5-year olds (2 boys--Jack and Braden and 1 girl--Brianna)
Not quite 6, but they could be better than nothing!

Hi all, it's been awile since I've been here on the threads. We have just finished moving after buying a new house and are now looking forward to our next event, which is the cruise in January! I now know that no-one should be frightened about moving themselves, they should be TERRIFIED!! One soon finds out how much junk they aquire over the years.

Our DD's Carly (9) and Vanessa (5) at sailing time, are wondering if there are any girls who they can get to know on-line before the cruise. If so let us know and we can let them e-mail and get aquainted.

I also wanted to know if anyone has been to the pirate party on board and if it is well worth attending and dressing up, like to know your opinions. Also what is good to do @ Key West for adults and kids too.

Gord

I "predict" that you ARE going on this cruise!!!!!! :cheer2: ;)

I guess my advice on the walking part - would be to take your time and relax...but that's what a cruise is for! Don't let yourself feel rushed and use a chair/walker when needed.

yeppers, i figure i can find a nice lounge chair, kick back, relax, and NOT think about work!!!!!!

Hi Cruising Canuck, are you still in the lovely province of Saskatchewan? Or did you just do a short move... Yes, last time we moved my husband declared that his next move would be out of this house in a pine box :rotfl2: We are in the middle of getting our basement finished and all the contents are currently in my dining room - talk about an accumulation of junk!! It's a great opportunity to purge... my DD (who will be 6 on the cruise) would love to talk to your daughters - can you PM me??
Cheers everyone!!

Hope everyone is getting ready to celebrate a great 4th. Our neighborhood block party should be a blast, as long as it doesn't rain.

And to our Neighbors to the North, hope you all had a great Canada Day (July 1, right?)

well i am booked for the cruise. Pal Mickey is already wanting to pack <G>

WELCOME to "brady961" ("brady" on the MDC) - Marsha, Glenna ("Dis Gal" on the MDC - not to be confused with the one here on the DIS) and their Pal Mickeys! That's two more adult cruisers and two more Pals! Yaaaaaay! Hey - Pre-cruise party time comin' up soon? Let's do it right!

That 6 months will pass faster than you can imagine! Holly and I booked more than 6 months ago and the time really does seem to be flying by (at least for me). Of course, it will pass quicker if you don't actually count the days each day - LOL. :goodvibes

The pirate party is a lot of fun! My boys really loved it on our last cruise, seeing pirates everywhere--including Captain Hook and Pirate Mickey was a lot of fun and they liked the fireworks. My boys both wore pirate shirts and jeans both to dinner and the party

JUST FOR FUN: For anyone bringing a Pal Mickey who wants to dress him for the various occasions - -

In addition to his Passport and luggage, your Pal might want a sailor outfit for the SailAway deck party the first day, a Pirate outfit for Key West and Pirate Night, a tux for formal night, something Mexican for Cozumel, a tropical outfit or repeat the pirate outfit for Grand Cayman, either his tux or some other really spiffy outfit for semi-formal night, and most definitely some beach attire for Castaway Cay. You may also want to dress him in something special to meet the Captain (who will wear dress whites for a meet 'n' greet evening).

Something playful or cute (attention-getting - LOL) would be appropriate for when he presents his autograph book to the table full of characters at the autograph session. Shorts and t-shirt are suitable for Goofy's exercise class or for his jog or walk (with you doing the work of course) around Deck 4. If you have a chef's outfit, that would be SO impressive at the various onboard chef's presentations/classes. Your Pal may also find nightclub attire useful - something from the 50's, 60's, 70's or 80's. And if Mickey plans to do karaoke, anything really "showy" or flashy would score points. Don't forget shoes - sneakers, sandals, slippers for lounging. Speaking of lounging - he may want pajamas and a robe for hanging out in the stateroom relaxing. Then there is plain old lounging-around-the-pool wear. Don't forget his sunglasses and a tiny beach towel. And do make sure he wears his finest tux to the Golden Mickeys show. You wouldn't want him to look shabby going down that red carpet for his interview!

If you want to plan around the dining rooms, yes, you can do that. Lumiere's is a Beauty and the Beast theme, so anything from that will do. It is the fanciest of the regular rotation restaurants there (Palo is not a rotation restaurant). For Animator's Palate, start with strictly black and white. Add color later (hahaha). Parrot Cay is casual and colorful so anything goes - especially anything tropical.

And in case you are wondering . . . No, I don't have all the stuff I just mentioned . . . yet. :rotfl2:
