JANUARY 27, 2007 "PAL MICKEY" Western Magic ROLL CALL

keep me posted on the pre-cruise Pal Mickey patio party. Who knows where i will be in Sept but I would love to attend. Will be fun. Maybe we can have a fashion show LOL.

I ordered swim trunks, cargo pants, hawaiian shirt, and t-shirt from an extension of Build a bear (Friends 2B) not sure will fit. but they were cheap so thought if don't maybe I can still make them work.

Pal Mickey now has his own suitcase which will probably use as a carry on. So he will just have to deal with some of my things in there to get on-board. <G> Of course I will share my checked suitcase to carry most of his things. Only fair we both share LOL.

Still working on ideas of walking the beach into ocean and staying upright LOL. physical therapist is helping with ideas too. Plus maybe by time of cruise all this PT will have helped and not be such an issue. Ok I can hope <G>

Oh I bought a swimsuit this week for 70 percent off at Beall's, but also bought swim trunks to wear with it. Im' not one to wear even a one piece without shorts. Ya know being hefty hefty hefty makes me feel ackward. Wore suit and shorts this week in the pool at hotel (business trip) and worked out great. was comfortable, and i felt "covered".

so im ready to cruise <G>

That's what I will do also - put some of my things in my Pal's rolling carry-on. It is not a huge bag (Mickey backpack with wheels) but is bigger than he is - LOL. I haven't done anything yet about adding to his wardrobe. If necessary he could get by with what he has since it ranges from swimsuit to tuxes, but I do want to get him some new dress shoes. I am trying to economize because I have so much WDW character dining coming up when a Disneyland Paris Cast Member visits for 3 weeks in October, plus the MNSSHP and MVMCP parties. So wardrobes for my Pal and I will likely suffer. That means I will wear the same dresses I have not worn since my last cruise - hahaha.

Just want to mention - - Anyone who has a Pal Mickey but does not have clothing for him, PLEASE bring him anyway! No problem. If you feel awkward not dressing him up, I am sure some of us would be willing to lend some outfits. :goodvibes

Yes - do NOT feel funny if your Pal Mickey only has the clothes he came in. I don't have that many outfits for mine, mostly due to the fact that it's hard for me to find them! (wish I had a Michael's closeby).

Agree if you have a Pal Mickey in original clothing (red shorts, or the tux) bring him anyway. It will be fun. And like someone said if leave him in stateroom you find a cute surprise with him when you return to your room. I think the stewards enjoy coming up with different poses for him each day, as much as we enjoy him.

So bring Pal, he will have a blast, gets lots of attention in stateroom, or wherever he tags along.

I am a little fanatic about PM and go overboard usually. This is a NOT contest, or even comparing PM's with others, its just having PM along for the fun of it.

edited: just weird not to add, I rec'd 8 notices of the same new post. I first thought wow overnight some ppl had been busy on the boards, then realized its just the same one with many notices <G>

Umm . . I am sure what you meant was this is NOT a contest, right? Hahaha. So true that it is all just for fun - - no competition. :cool1:

brady961 & Holly and anyone else who lives here in FL - - I am tentatively planning a pre-cruise Pal Mickey party (patio get-together) at my house on September 30 if anyone wants to come. I say tentative because being the height of hurricane season we of course have to work around the weather. I also hope we can have a mini-meet in Orlando area before the cruise. :sunny:

I'd like to go to this! I know you've invited me before and it's always conflicted with work - but that shouldn't happen this time - so plan on me!!! :sunny:

thanks for catching that. I edited to add word NOT <G>

its' been one of those days. I went to buy some capri's at Beall's as they still having a great sale. Loving these capri's for work and just day to day. And here I can wear these all year basically <G> Problem is I put them on my company credit card grrr. noticed this when I got home, so had to go back, void charge on that credit card. And then put on my personal one. Hey they both say Visa LOL. Just wasn't paying attention I guess.

Yeppers, having PM on the cruise is just for fun. the more the merrier though

Don't know why but my other ticker was saying 6 months and 9 days until....... Although I used the correct departure date. So I switched by to tickerfactory one. I was getting so confused with mine saying 9 days and everyone else's saying 5. I want as many days knocked off as possible <G>

For everyone sailing on A Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea - - -

In addition to our cruiser list, the beginnings of the rest of the site are out there now. Click HERE for the home page of our mini website. For anyone interested, on the Resources page you will find a link to my complete packing list, except that I still need to add Pal Mickey's stuff! It is basically the same list I have had for my previous 7-night DCL cruises.

We have also started group pages for this cruise HERE on MySpace and HERE on Yahoo Groups. Due to the nature of those sites and possible privacy issues, when you attempt to join, a message will be sent to me to approve you. That is to protect our members and keep out anyone not cruising with us.

BTW - On MySpace you can now set your profile to "private" where only those you add to your friends list can view your page.

We welcome our fellow cruisers, but if you choose to stick to only this thread and/or the one on the MDC, no problem. ;)

I have a question. I've noticed on eBay that there are quite a few special events that take place on the cruise ships (Ex. Stitch's High Seas Adventure, Villainous Voyage, etc.) How do people know in advance whether a cruise will be like that? I know some are obviously holiday related, but how do you figure out the other ones? Is it just luck of the draw? My DD11 would have LOVED to be on Stitch's High Seas Adventure.

Kim

I think that they just change one of the regularly schedulled children's events. There is a Stitch's Great Adventure held in the kids club on the first day at sea. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's in the Navigators!!

Yes. This far in advance there is no way to know. A lot can change in 6 months, and even from day to day. In fact, on rare occasions they change what has been published in the daily Personal Navigator by making announcements and posting signs, so you have to be on the lookout sometimes for even more added special activities. :goodvibes

HOORAY!! OUR TICKERS SAY "SIX MONTHS TO OUR CRUISE!!!!!!!!" :cheer2: :cheer2: party: :jumping1: :jumping1:

It's slowly but surely getting closer!!!

:wizard: :wizard: Can we join the party? My family and I (DH, DD 15, DS 13, DS 3) are booked on the cruise and can't wait :hourglass It is great to know there are just as many excited people counting down the days!

Welcome. It is great to have you:) Be sure to email your cabin number to the group leader (the person who posted first) along with the number of people in your party, their ages etc. (number of times on DCL) so that she can add you to the list. Our 3 year old DD will be on the cruise and I see you have a 3 year old DS. Maybe they can play together?

secretkeeper, HOORAY more to join the fun....

I hope to meet so many new ppl on the cruise from DIS. Just look for me and Pal Mickey (well he has to get rest so won't be with me all the time and everywhere. He will be responsible for holding down things in the stateroom when he can't join me in something <G>)

Of course you can join the party!!! party:

Welcome - and if you have a Pal Mickey - be sure to bring him too!

WELCOME, secretkeeper! Gee - these guys beat me on replying while I was busy adding you to the first post of this thread and to our cruiser list page!

Yes, please do send me any info you would like added to the cruiser list. Also be sure to take a look at our Pal Mickey Gathering at Sea mini website HERE. And don't worry - This cruise consists of Pal Mickey and non-Pal Mickey owners. Ha-ha.

BTW - I was born and raised in San Diego and attended UCSD in La Jolla (along with several other colleges - I was a college addict!). I still think it is the best city in the U.S. :goodvibes

Thanks for the warm welcomes! It will be great to have a place to have people to talk to. My kids have no idea we are doing this hence the screen name. DH is not a Disneyite and I'm working on converting him. This is my dream trip and he is going along with it because he loves me and is hoping for some serious relaxation time which I can guarantee he will get. I also got him to rationalize the trip as in 2007 we mark our 20th aniversary and DD turns 16. I'm sure my 3 year old will be willing to play with all club friends. Now that I have him potty trained he will be able to play and DH and I will get some adult time!
