January 25, 2009 on the WONDER

Mintee,

did you use a travel agent? our paperwork was sent to the travel agent. She sent to us after I called and asked.

Melissa,

Blue Lagoon does have wet suits you can put on as the water is a bit cold. The boat ride over to the island is fun and being able to swim with the dolphins is neat. They teach you a lot about the dolphins. So if anyone out there is looking for educational items to make your teachers happy, this is one that will work. They have tons of hand outs and you can buy a packet on particular dolphin and you become that dolphin's sponsor.

Hi Mintee... we have not paid in full yet, and we received the packet...

Hi Ramon.... thanks for the info on the dolphin swim... I was thinking of myself going as an observer, and letting my family get into the water with the dolphins... will I be close enough to them to get some good pictures? Or do you think I should be in the water as well?

There is a deck for you to take pictures on. I don't think they will let you down on the floating dock where you get into the water. They also have a photographer that takes pictures and tries to sell you a package of pictures of the dolphin kissing someone in your group. I'll try to scan our picture so you can see.

We also took a waterproof camera and took some pictures while in the water with the dolphins. You can get a disposable one for this and then use at CC.

Thanks Ramon! It seems like someone said that the picture package they offer was pretty expensive... do you remember?

It depends on what package you get. We got three 5x7 (they may have been a bit larger) with two mini magnets for about $45. The larger pictures come in cardboard fold-able frames. They were nice, and we didn't feel like we were getting robbed.

they have various packages available. I can't remember the prices, but their website list from $8.00 to $120.00. I think I got the big package with the CD. CD is nice, but it only has you in it for about 5 minutes. the rest of the video is about the island and the dolphin program. But it's not as much as the photopass at WDW.

Speaking of which, I read where people were combining their photopass accounts and splitting the difference in the group. The got 1 cd and then got their photos off of it and passed to the next family in the group. Sounded interesting. Anyone done this or want to try it?

From what I read, and I'll have to find the DIS report, everyone interested combines their cards into one account and split the cost of the CD.

The one I read had 5 families that combined the cost and then the CD was mailed from one family to the next to download their photos.

Again, let me find the one article and I'll post.

Found it.... http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=22608941&postcount=8

I wish they had photopass on the ship, then I would definitely take you up on your offer! We're only in Epcot 1 day though...

Hi everyone,
I am excited to see there is a thread started! Is anyone cruising with kids? We have 3 - DD10.5, DS7, DS4 at the time of the cruise.

Jennifaerie, it looks like we cruised at the same time as you already - we were on the 1/27 cruise as well - wasn't it a nice surprise to spend 2 days at CC?

Looking forward to getting acquainted with everyone... :flower3:

We will be on our first Disney Cruise on January 25!! SAMILY I see that in your post you said that you have a daughter age 10.5 - me, DH and DD (who will turn 11 right before the cruise) will be on the cruise along with DH's mom, dad and sister. Maybe we could arrange to meet up so that our daughter's could meet!

so is anyone celebrating anything special on your cruise? birthday, anniversary, honeymoon... my dd turns 11 the day we disembark :cheer2:

My DD's bday is Jan 10 and she will be 11 right before we leave!!

We're going to do the dolphin swim... hopefully the water is not too cold

Does anyone know what times these are scheduled for? We were thinking about the dolphin swim for DH, DD and myself. DH's mom, dad and sister won't want to do this and I was thinking the glass bottom boat tour. But DH, DD and I would also like this.....is there anyway that we could fit in both things in our day at Nassau??

Will anyone tell me when the final payment is due for this cruise? I'm still debating about doing it, but now rooms are starting to get filled up, so I figured I'd check again when final payment is due as I'm guessing a few rooms will open up with cancellations. Any insight is appreciated...

Thanks!

I just got my papers today and it says that final payment date is Nov 11

welcome pskorf

I want to say the dolphin times were 11 and 1. The boat takes about 30 minutes to get there from the dock. I'm sure if you got the early swim, you'd have time to do the glass bottom boat. But you may want to check the itinerary to make sure.

Welcome onboard pskorf! :) Yes, I agree we should meet up so the kids can meet! I think we have a few here that will be in the 10-12 group together.

We don't have an official "meet" for everyone here planned yet- do all you guys want to plan for something quick on the first day? Any ideas?
