January 23, 2010 Sailing with Mickey on the Magic! **The Crusin' DISers**

Where have you found your magnetic paper? I have checked Target, Walmart, JoAnn's & Michael's with no luck. I must not be checking in the right places.

As for FE gifts, we are at 16 participating so far. Anyone else interested?

Thanks!

I am using photopaper(already have it and found 4x6 size and larger at the Dollar Store) and I got the business card magnets at a craft store but have seen it at Wal-mart and Target. As for magnetic paper it is spendy but I have seen it at all the office stores.

Cool, we actually went and toured the Iwo Jima when it came for Fleet Week this spring. My DH asked the Duty Officer if he could give us a tour and he showed us the Wardroom and some staterooms, pretty neat. My hubby is usually on Subs so to see an actual ship was a treat for us. We went and saw the USS New York for it's commissing on Veterns Day, that was pretty impressive too.
So, I take it your hubby wont be wearing his uniform for formal? I thought I read something you wrote about that, not sure though. My hubby wore his last time and plans to wear it again this time. Many people do!
Anyhow, I look forward to meeting you on the ship. How old are your kids?

Alyson

DH just transfered at does not like it much so far. He is use to a carrier so it is a big adjustment. What is your DH's rate. Mine is an AO.

A friend of mine with daughter's the same age mentioned connecting his kids with other kids on the upcoming cruise so they already had friends to connect with. I have a DD8 and DD10 on the upcoming 1/23 Magic. Another family with DDs roughly the same age are also traveling with us so they would have a big group for the week. If you have DDs interested in exchanging email with them prior, please let me know.
thanks

Hi Guys & Gals,

Still need participants for the Traveling Mickey. All you have to do is sign him when he shows up on your door and pass him to the next person on the list. Only have 6 slots available and a couple of people have already signed up.

How does it work? Mickey will show up on your door one day during the cruise. You keep him that day, sign him and take him to his next cabin the next day sometime. The person who gets him on Friday will get to keep him!

PM me or if you can't PM yet, just reply here!

Kelli

We are interested if slots are still available! Thanks!

6043 isn't a Cat 12, it's an 11. Your reservation will always show Cat 12 (as that's what you booked), but your cabin # is an inside cabin on deck 6 forward.

Looks like you're just downstaris from us! We got booked in 7042 :woohoo:

.

No upgrade fairy for us... :) But we're still on the boat!!!

Hey....did I ever post who the other two DISers are in my cabin? I think not, and perhaps someone might know them from an earlier cruise or something.

The are:

Cheri, NotSoLittleMermaid

Monica, mishoe01

I think they both tend to post mostly on the cruise meets threads of their various cruises and not so much on the boards in general.

I'm hoping to ride bikes at Castaway Cay as that's something I've not done there yet, and the weather should be WAY more condusive to that than it was last September! Man, it was nasty hot! :sad2: I walked off the ship to eat and Cookies and went straight back on board to find my family lunching in air conditioned luxury at Luminere's.

Also, what do you guys think about adding a week or two to the FE deadline?...or has everyone bought their supplies already? I was just thinking we might get some more interest as it gets closer and I don't want to leave anyone out. Let me know what you think.

Tried to send a PM but couldn't because I don't have enough posts?!
We are:
Barbara (43) Jim (DH44) Julia (DD3) Bruno (DS2) Sophie (Grandma-aka Mama)
from Bergen County we have LD and not sure if we are too late for FE's.
Don't have our cabin # yet, but should be on Deck 8 somewhere.
This is our first cruise with DCL. :woohoo:

I have to run out for a bit but I'll sit down with it in a little while.

I have my FE gifts for around where we are at now but can go to the store to get more if I need to.

Just got home and guess what was waiting for me in my mailbox...my Magical Express tickets!!!:cool1:

Ok, now on to official FE business.

I thought y'all were only allowed south of the Mason-Dixon line during Jersey Week! :lmao:

Yeah, you have to have 9 posts, I think to PM, so you'll be there soon! Welcome aboard! :yay:

Here is the up-to-date organized FE list. (It prints as 2 pages.)

Check the list above. If any info is incorrect, let me know and I will correct it. As it stands right at this moment, there are 11 participating cabins (22 adults and 17 children).

I think extending the deadline to this Friday(12/18) at midnight would be a good idea as I've already had some interest after the previous deadline. I will change that on the second post.

I think I will make some extra FE gifts just in case...ya' neva' know ;)

Extending the date sounds like a good deal to me! Thanks so much for compiling all that info. You are fabulous!!! :littleangel:

Right now we're lucky enough to travel whenever we want, but as soon as they get to Kindergarten......looks like it will be Jersey Week for us too;)Thanks for the welcome!
