***January 2022 Thread*** - Kicking Off 2022 with WDW!

Edit! Never mind - they scan your tickets/magicbands!

Oops - one question! Does anyone know what you need to do or have to prove that you're eligible for the extended evening hours?

Is anyone currently staying at BCV that could share January's Recreation calendar??

DH is sick now. Just a cold, not the other thing  We leave the 29th so I told him that he has to get it out of his system! But we got an email that our flight home needs to change. We were scheduled to fly out at 3:30pm. Now they want to move us to 11:30 am. That leaves no time to do anything in the morning and we have a Chef Mickey's breakfast scheduled. I'm bummed and don't know what to do. My mom says to see if we can extend our stay by a day and get a flight the next day. I like her thinking....

I wanted to gift my daughter and spouse a Harmonious dining package as a kid-free date night during our trip but there are none. Does Harmonious go on hiatus during Festival of the Arts because the Disney on Broadway has an 8 pm show?

As of this coming Monday, Jan 10th, Remy will be ILL$ or Standby. No more BGs for Remy.

Noooo. Boo on this lol. Another ride we’ll have to rope drop. I feel like I have two options for this 10 day trip… rope drop daily to avoid long lines for all the big rides or pay $60 a day for my group of 4 to sleep in. Oh on top of the 4 days of Genie+ we budgeted for. Ok sorry small rant over…. Sigh.

Listen to your mother. ;-)

Has anyone used Mears Connect yet? I booked with Mears for transportation to MCO on 2/2. Our flight is at 5:50 pm and I was given pick up time of 2:20 pm by Mears. This seems too early to me...thinking of canceling Mears and just getting an Uber around 3:30-3:45 pm instead.

Here is a whole thread dedicated to Mears Connect experiences. 🙂

It seems their standard is to pick up about 3 hours before your flight. They give a little cushion in case of traffic or issues at another resort pick up location. Uber would definitely be the most direct route.

Now to add snow to the worry list!
Our flight is 630am tomorrow morning and there’s currently about 1/2 foot of snow outside and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon. Anyone else dealing with this?!

One of my dreads as well for winter travel. We had snow overnight, but it actually stopped pretty quickly. Got about 5 inches. My worry isn't so much about the flight getting out, but getting to the airport if it snows or is icy on my day.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst! (I am hoping you won't need any of these tips, but just in case, here is a great article about being prepared in case of flight delay/cancelation)

Unless you have TSA precheck, given the horror stories of getting through security, I'm not sure that 3.5hrs is terrible for travel & security time. But then again, I don't do well up against deadlines/timelines!

We're taking them, too, but not until the 23rd. I did receive a reconfirmation email, which I appreciated!

Can you get to the airport tonight? I know the snow is still falling but would it be easier on you to stay at an airport hotel tonight so you have a short trip to the airport? I find that planes are really good about flying and seem to function better than the road conditions.... but then again, my part of the country is terrible at treating roads despite having a winter climate!

I’m in northern Virginia and we have gotten a bunch of snow this week. We don’t leave till Jan 27th though. I would not be thrilled either if I was leaving tomorrow with the snow outside. Crossing my fingers for you it stops snowing soon!

It just occurred to me (we have never taken a winter vacation) that if it snows in the 2 weeks we'll be gone that the cat sitter won't be able to get in. I need to find someone to plow/shovel! I'm glad you all brought this up.
