***January 2022 Thread*** - Kicking Off 2022 with WDW!

You guys...WE LEAVE IN 3 DAYS!!!!

I'm still not totally excited...I don't think I'll be able to stop worrying until we're on the plane...actually, I won't be able to stop worrying until we're on the plane for our second leg (we have a layover in Minneapolis), but we're ALMOST THERE!

We are HHHEEEEERRREEEE! Did the online check in and got a text when we were at baggage claim that our room was ready. We went straight to the room on arrival to the resort. We unpacked and headed to Disney Springs. I am so excited that we are HHEERRREE!!!

I am hoping they have a dedicated figment bucket line and a separate food line! I wanna get that amazing grilled cheese more than once!

That would be amazing. When we were in DL in November, the popcorn bucket line was the same as the actual popcorn line - no popcorn for me that day!! (It was a REALLY cute Toy Story bucket)

Speaking of popcorn...Anyone know what buckets we can get? Our plan is to buy one on our first day in MK. What will our options be?

Also, my last pair of ears was delivered today and OMG they are the cutest!! Not my exact pair because I'm too lazy to take a pic, but the photo from the Etsy listing (and really close to mine - my one ear has Max, but the other has Lady). What the picture doesn't show is how thick the actual ears are, and that there's white trim around them and they look so good and I can't wait to wear them!

So we were unable to extend our stay by a day, so now I had to choose the early flight home because they cancelled our flight. I'm really bummed to have to leave so early, plus we had a park ticket for that day that we paid for and can't even go to a park.

Also, I was looking into getting towncar service for the day coming in, January 29th, but all the people that I contacted have said they are fully booked that day. Makes me nervous for crowd levels now! I think we are going to just try Uber. I've never used it before, but hope it works out!

Are you unable to extend your stay due to a room not being available or your schedule back home? If a room is the problem, there may not be a discounted room currently open for booking, but there may be availability at non-discounted rack rate; that could be booked, leaving the option to check every day to see if a discounted room eventually becomes available, due to other guests’ cancellations or changes in plans.

Are you willing to move resorts or are they not available either? We once booked a one night at another resort but when I asked about luggage transfer a few days before we’d move, I was able to stay at our resort and they were even able to keep us in our same room but I needed to be ready to move if I’d had to.

The cast member I spoke to mentioned no rooms available for that time I was looking at. I'm bummed, but we'll have fun nonetheless!

That sounds amazing! I would have been willing to even switch resorts, but nothing available.

What about offsite? Check out of your resort and have bell services hold your luggage while you go to the park. Then later that day you can get something near the airport and just chill for the evening and leave the next morning. Its not the most convenient, but its a shame to waste a park ticket.

Totally up to you but you may wish to call and specifically request a 1 night reservation anywhere for the additional night. Might make all the difference. My experience is that they systems do not automatically populate what is available, you need to ask specific questions.

I just did a quick search on the Disney site for 1 night stays approx a week after your arrival (the same day as ours) and I can find availability for 1 night and I can see availability for 1 night Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun so I'd be surprised if the CM you spoke with looked for a 1 night reservation at a different resort.

Just my .02

Also you could probably rent dvc points for a night. People looking to dump points before they they are lost
