January 2016 Discount Code Watch

This past January (2015) it was cold most of the week - 50's-70's. We are from just outside of Boston so anything without snow was great but we wore jeans and sweatshirts for most of the week. We had brought down jackets for our boys for our return (3&4) and ended up using them while we were there. Other years we have gone and it has been gorgeous - 70's-80's with a day or two that is hot hot. It seems to be a toss up. I have pics from 2013 of my then 2yr splashing in the bubble jets in Epcot because it was so nice. Sorry, I haven't been much help but I believe that it is typically in the 70s for the end of january (we've gone several times then). Last year was more of a fluke but I always pack at least 2 pairs of jeans/pants.

Thank you!! That does help!!! I love to use the pools on our breaks- we are from Ohio so we definitely can swim in 70 degrees!!

We've been the last 5 years in January, usually the last week and for the most part the weather has been in the low 70's during the day, with sun. We only had one crappy week, which was in 2014, when it rained and was actually in the 50's for a couple of days. It hasn't deterred us though, because the prices are low and even in the rain, there's always still something to do.

Can someone help me detangle my brain? How does a room only discount work? Can you still add tickets and dining? Or do you have to pay OOP for meals and can just add tickets? For some reason I feel like I'm making it more complicated. We're wanting to try a stay at the Poly for our week long trip at the end of Jan. this year ;)

I just booked our airfare for January 19-26. $ 62 each way from Philadelphia! We were planning on waiting until the discounts came out but the airfare was too good to pass up. We've had free dining in December the last three years but like MrsB1228 said, we eat too many desserts. I'll probably book a room only for now and wait and see what discounts come out. My DS is in WDW this week, but no bounceback offers are for January.

wow that's awesome...i thought mine for $140 out of newark was great

We did a room-only discount, skipped the meal plan (only two of us, not a good deal), and bought tickets separately. I was able to add them to my account and could book FP+ as usual. I also could book the dining reservations, as well.

I don't think discounts for this period will come out until the first week in October.
We are heading down about Jan 21st through the 25. DD will be competing at WWOS so I will be checking their discounts in addition to whatever comes out. Anybody have experience booking through the sports arm of Disney? TIA

Following as we'd like to spend a few days on the parks before our cruise. However exchange rate (we're Canadian) is murder so a discount would really be helpful. Also so jealous of all of you with cheap flight tickets. Flying from Ottawa best we're finding is $230 or so. So sad!!

Try flying from Vancouver!! I would LOVE to find something for $230 :) (just showing you someone is always worse off LOL)

We are headed down in a couple of weeks and I am hoping there is some kind of bounceback offer for January.

Adding a little more to Sarbah's response: if you choose the room only discount, you then have the option to add tickets and dining plan right then if booking with Disney directly. However, it does convert to a package. If you do that then you owe the package deposit and money due several weeks out. The discount is the same though. So say you have a room only for 30% off Poly standard rooms that are normally 400 a night or 120 off per night. If you convert to a package with the room only discount you'll still get 120 off a night. If you buy your tickets separately from a third party or possibly even later from Disney and apply to your account I'm not sure if you'll be able to add the dining plan. If you're not getting the dining plan for free, though, it's probably not worth it anyway.

Staying 1/6-1/10 for marathon weekend! Hoping for a discount of any sort because who wouldn't want a discount? We used points for our flight so that part is basically free. No tickets booked yet, just the room only.
I am a disney visa card holder too and get pins emailed all the time, but we do not go every year.

I'm so excited to be going in January or February for my bachelorette party! I haven't booked anything yet because I've been waiting for the room discounts to come out, and I don't want to book before then because of paying and organizing everything with my friends. I did book a couple ADRs for the weekend I'm pretty sure we're going though. Any thoughts on the difference in weather at the end of January vs. the end of February? Also, if we went the weekend before Flower and Garden Festival, are some of the topiaries already on display?

I just spent $74 one way I'm SouthWest out of Baltimore on January 12th. Our flight back was $109, but it was a Saturday if we were willing to stay till Monday (or was it Tuesday) the 25th it would have been $74 going back too, or if we were willing to fly out at 6:30am, no thanks to that one.
