Joining the Jan 2015 crowd. We plan to go the last week of January and are hoping it's not as rainy as the non-Disney time we had in Orlando in Jan 2014!

Yes, last year NYE week we got soaked. The year before, weather was cold a couple of days and then really nice.

Split stay - half offsite/ half gifted to us at AKL. I know we won't qualify for FD, but I'll be looking out for out her discount options and tips!

That's funny, we were there in the lousy January weather 2014 also and are going last week of Januart 2015 too. Great minds think alike I guess!

We are planning a Jan 3-9 trip with 3 granddaughters. Picked these dates because the granddaughters have extended Christmas holidays (3 weeks instead of 2). The school system here started that last year and will continue it for at least the upcoming. They won't miss any days!!!

Getting extremely antsy waiting for January dates to open. Did begin making ADRs this morning - just made the anxiety level rise a little more. Spoke with someone on the phone and also someone on line in the last couple of days. Both said Jan packages will be released mid-July to mid-August. Only thing you can book now is Room Only - not even dining plan according to phone call this morning.

Joining in the fun. I just booked our room only for POR. With the 180+10 days coming up for dinner reservations I couldn't wait any longer in the hopes the packages would come out.

We are heading Jan 24-Feb 1, and it will be a surprise trip for the kids.

Now that I have a room, fingers crossed for a promotion in the next couple of months.

I called yesterday to get a quote and the cm told me that right now I could book room only and that when I switch to a pkg, the deposit from room only would be refunded and charged a different deposit for pkg. he said pkgs would come out for jam/feb in mid-July to mid- August, and that discounts for that time wouldn't come out until sept/oct.
Keep in mind that just what ONE cm on the phone said. Ymmv.

Hi Everyone - we're potentially looking at a January 2015 stay as well.

Question - I've searched and found the historical discounts (looks like the last 2 years have been stay, play, dine) but does anyone know if MLK weekend is a black-out for checking in to be elegible?

DS2 turns 5 on January 11th and DS1 turns 8 on the 24th of January, so we're hoping to do a birthday trip around MLK weekend since our Son gets 4 days off for that (I know, higher crowds, but only a few of the days and this way my son only misses a few days of class). Ideally we're looking at checking in that Friday (16th) or Saturday (17th) then checking out the 25th (sunday) and being in the parks for DS1's actual bday - additionally, this gives 2 weeks between Christmas break and when we'd be gone. However, I'm wondering if checking in that Friday or Saturday will make the trip exempt from any discounts.

We could also check in the 10th and out the 18th and be in the Parks for DS2's actual bday if that is the case. Same amount of school days missed, but only one week between Christmas break and vacay.

This turned out longer than expected but hopefully someone might have some insight. With the ADR windows for this time opening soon I need to give it a little thought and I don't like booking unnecessary ADRs

If you're coming up on 180 from the start of your stay, you can book room only now to allow you to make ADRs for 180 + 10. That's what I did. You can rebook as a package later, but jump on those BOG ressies. I got BOG for 180 + 4, based on our RO booking. I'm pretty sure the 3rd day of our stay was available, too, but the day I booked was a b-day and already an MK day.

Last year we went from Jan 11th to the 17th and we're planning on the same dates next year. Aside from one rainy night the weather was great. Crowd levels were very manageable. Hoping for another great vacation next year. :

Joining in! We're going Jan 6-15th 2015! We were there January 2012 & 2013 and we loved it! Weather is kinda unpredictable- one day at AK was so cold in 2013 that I had to buy a sweatshirt then the end of the week was so hot I was melting.

We have a RO reservation booked at one of the All Stars resorts just so we could make our dining reservations at the 180 mark&& got everything we wanted at the times we wanted! but are anxiously waiting on packages and rates to come out because we're debating between a few deluxe hotels and need to be able to price them!

Sorry-I haven't read this whole thread - but when might any deals come out? We may have to switch our Nov. trip. I got a FD deal for Nov., so I'm hoping for something for January.

Any thoughts on the crowds for Jan. 13-19? I've only been during July and Aug., so I'm hoping for nicer weather and LOW crowds.

Still a long time off...but I'll need to figure out what I'm doing soon as ADR window is coming. Hopefully it won't be too busy in Jan to really worry about it-and we don't really have any high-priority ADRs anyway. Thanks for the info!

Count me in as another January dreamin' Disney planner. I haven't been back to WDW in 10 years, and though a DL trip in 2010 was lovely, I miss the mega mousealiciousness that you can only get down Florida way.

Loved reading others' experiences with travelling in Jan/Feb, especially the mild weather mentions. I'm from Arizona, so anything sub-100F is a blessing, and if some of the water rides are closed for refurbs, it will be a small price to pay for low crowds and value season prices. Can't wait till the rates and deals start making their debut!

I ended up booked in POR for room only, with the hopes of moving to WL on a future discount.

POR for 8 nights was $1680 and WL was $2665.

HS: LA Prop Cinema Storage closed 6/16/2014- 2/28/2015

We've never done CRT, and were thinking about it for this trip. Guess that made the decision for us - DH will be excited - HDDR again for our 2 entitlement table service meal!
