Hi Everyone - We are looking to go to DL in mid to late January. Who has been and how did find it? Was it really cold? TIA!

We went mid-late January 2011 and the weather wasn't too bad. A bit chilly at night but during the days it was nice and sunny. We may have been lucky though.

Try and avoid MLK weekend as it's apparently pretty busy.
Some rides are down for maintenance and there are not as many shows on but the crowds were non existent and we had a great time.

My sister (heidispidi on here), niece and I went in Jan 2011' I think dates were 7th to 15th. The first couple of days were pretty cold, especially at night, e.g. While watching Fantasmic we needed jackets, hats and gloves. Us adults froze while watching the crazy child swimming the hotel pool! But by the end it had warmed up a bit and we were in t-shirts. Similar to Sydney winter weather I'd say.

Crowds were almost non-existent, we had no or 5 minute waits on almost everything. We even got to go on Splash Mountain a couple of times without getting off. There were some refurbs happening and shows only on the weekends but the lack of crowds more than made up for it. And the day we went to Universal it was like a ghost town, no wait for anything.

Thank you to you both. Sydney winter weather is great (for winter of course) so we should be fine. Glad to hear about low crowds. We went to WDW in July this year and while we had a great time the crowds were crazy! It will be nice to experience Disney with low crowds! Getting excited already!
