January 2014 discount watch!!

Do the kids just pay their normal rate then?

Can you upgrade to deluxe dining with the s/p/d deal? How does that work?

Yes, you can. You will pay the price DIFFERENCE between the adult DDP and the DXDP.

Basically, the cost to upgrade is the same as free dining, but you're paying the child price for the original DP instead of getting it free. There are specific upgrade amounts on the resaurants board. I believe (off the top of my head) it's around $45 per adult per night and $10 for each child per night for the upgrade.

We are two adults, I child (4) and one child (2). The two year old is free, so basically I'm paying rack rates for room, tix and dining for my 4 year old and child prices for tix and dining for me and DH right?

I thought this was the case, but sounded too good to be true! Thanks! :)

So if we stay at a value hotel we would probably only qualify for QS at kids prices?

And then if we wanted the standard dining plan we would pay for all 4 of us to have the kids QS PLUS for those of us over 10 years of age we need to add on the difference between the adult QS and standard dining plan.

Last year when we stayed at Music we upgraded from the QS to DP and it cost about $300. We were 2 adults and 1 child for 8 nights. The child price to upgrade it not much so that was mainly the adult cost lol

Was that free dining?

I'm wondering if we can stay at a value and pay kid prices for the standard dining plan or if we need to pay to upgrade.

That was free dining. At a value you received the free dining for QS only. If you want to have the basic dining plan you have to upgrade to it like we did. That is what cost us $300 for 2 adults and 1 child.

If you stay at a value for P/S/D you will have to pay kid prices for the QS plan and then upgrade to the basic plan like we did for additional money.
So for us we would pay the $16 a day for QS plan and an additional $300 to upgrade to the Basic DP.

Yes, staying at a Value the DDP would cost you about $36 a person per night

Yep, you've got it. And the child would just be the child cost to upgrade.

Thanks for this info on the stay/play/dine! Just to make sure I have this right. We (3 adults) are booked jan5th-10th. The price difference between an adult and a children's ticket is $14. We have a 6 day ticket which means we save $84 each. Now since I don't think a 2014 dining plan price guide is up yet, I just based off of the 2013 one. a kids regular dining plan per night is $14.32. so since we are staying 5 nights it would cost us $71.60 each. so we are still getting that dining plan for free pretty much after they give us the money back for the tickets. Right?

I finally figured my savings and we will be saving $900!!!! I had to a split reservation and pay OOP for our meals the first part of the reservation

The price between a 6 day adult ticket and a child 6 day adult ticket is about $20 per person (you can't do it based off the 1 day price because the cost per ticket decreases the more you get). So total ticket savings is about $60 total (not $84 each).

The 2014 dining prices are out and listed on the restaurant dining plan board - I believe it was $15.75 for children. So you'd be looking at $78.75 pp for the 5 nights. All in all, you're paying about $10 per night for the QSDP at a value.

Are you only there 3 nights? I noticed you multiplied your DDP by 4 days. The DDP is tied to the number of nights, so you'll multiply by that number and receive the same amount of credits (3TS, 3QS, 3 snacks).

Our first reservation we won't have a Dining Plan so we are having to pay out of pocket for the food. The second reservation is 4 nights and we will have a dining plan for that.
