January 2014 discount watch!!

The price between a 6 day adult ticket and a child 6 day adult ticket is about $20 per person (you can't do it based off the 1 day price because the cost per ticket decreases the more you get). So total ticket savings is about $60 total (not $84 each).

The 2014 dining prices are out and listed on the restaurant dining plan board - I believe it was $15.75 for children. So you'd be looking at $78.75 pp for the 5 nights. All in all, you're paying about $10 per night for the QSDP at a value.

ohh I see. Oh man, I was way off. hahaha. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

...

Jan 2-5 - Room only reservation Can pick up package tickets when we check in and use them. Pay out of pocket for our meals for these days. I checked all the meals prices and these were the cheapest TS that we were doing.

I was wondering about the whole ticket thing if a reservation has to be split in 2. Are you allowed to use your park tickets (purchased with a s/p/d package) before your package officially begins? I don't know why, but I thought that wasn't allowed. Did the rules change?

I thought you had to use the package together as well. I was told in the past when a deal kicked in during the midst of a reservation to split it or move it... Last time we got resort only discounts but it didn't apply to the first night because we were just inside the deal. However, I think with the P/S/D since it effects all areas of the reservation that you have to use the whole thing together.

You are able to get your tickets up to 3 days early at a GS location. They pull them off the package but it only works for tickets. As far as promotions, you DO need to be checking in on a day it's being offered.

The phone CMs will not tell you this is possible to do.

This is why I'm glad I'm using a disney travel agent and let her work all this out!

Just be careful... They might not tell you when the deals come out. I had a friend that relied on the travel agent to do the dirty work and ended up spending more money then they had to for their trip because they weren't made aware of discounts. At the end of the day, they get paid based on how much you spend... Just remember that!

When does everyone think that the DV offer will be released? I know that general public should be the first week of October... that would make the DV offer out a bit sooner... next week maybe??!?!?!

I really hope so..... I've tried looking at the past release dates on mousesavers to try to find some rhyme or reason as to what day it may be released. Sadly I haven't come up with anything. But, everyday it's not released is a day closer to when it will be!

Love that perspective!!!

Last I spoke with a CS they told me to watch very closely in the beginning of October. So I would assume the DV discounts will come in the next two weeks followed by the public.

No. The only way to score a discount around New Year's is to book in for Free Dining which ends a few days before Xmas and extend through New Year's.

Thanks. That won't work. We 're going 1/1-1/8 and was thinking about extending our trip.

I just got off the phone with Disney Visa Customer Agent...He told me nothing was out yet but Hinted "Free Dining" was coming soon (He told me to keep calling back)

There is no free dining coming up. He misinformed you.
It's Play/Stay/ Dine. & Room Discount.
All of the promotional press kits were printed months ago for the above 2 promo's. These are the same promo's that were released via pin already.
Disney Visa will be out in about 6-8 days.

Yay! But also Nooo! I'll be out of town next Friday-Sunday. If they come out on Saturday I may have make the call while I'm literally running my half marathon ;)

So, side question... when we find what day the discounts are released, how early can we call and how long should I expect to be on the phone?

How does the stay/play/dine usually work? Is that the promotion where kids stay, play and dine for free??

Disney Visa reps work for Chase and have no bearing or anything at all to do with Disney promotions.

You can call starting 7a EST... I'd say plan for an hour + hold.
