January 2013

Thanks Wookie! My other half would love your screen name, lol.

Aww, bless him, how funny :) Looks like you need to plan another Disney vacation xx

Well the only problem is that we can't take the kids in January. The oldest will have wrestling. This is his first year that he will get to do it and I had no clue when the season was. Then there will be no way I can convince the DH to take 2 WDW trips in a year. If the boys put the pitiful act on hard enough, my DH will cancel the January trip and we'll move it to a Spring Break or another early June trip. More than likely, it would be an early June trip like out last one. When I originally told the DSs about the January trip with out them, they were like, "sure what ever, we don't care if you go with out us." Now that they know we would realy go with out them, they just have to go.

Well it's finaly official, my January 2013 birthday WDW trip is dead. :sad1: As soon as I told the DH the dates for the wrestling season, he said that there was no way he was going to WDW during it. He has been looking forward to the DS to be old enough to do football and wrestling both since our DS were in diapers and he refuses to miss any of it. That means as long as the DSs are in school, we can't go to WDW between August - March. Luckily, they let them have time off in summer football camp for vacations, or the summers would be out as well since they will start doing full summer football camp next year. I'll keep the first page updated as new people join. It looks like it'll be another June trip for us.

Boooo!! Im so sorry for you! I know as our kids get older it'll be harder to pull them out of school for things. I just can't imagine going in the summer!

I was worried about the heat. The first day we were there is was pretty humid, but it wasn't the rest of the time. That was mainly b/c it rained the rest of the trip. I actually enjoyed all the rain. Well at least until we were halfway home, and I started getting sick. The lines weren't bad at all. Most lines we didn't wait more than 30 minutes. The only longer lines was for Kali River Rapids and then the 2 hour wait for TSM. We didn't have any issues with any other guest, other than the British lady that I got into a short yelling match with.

So sorry to hear that is never took off for you. Can you plan a girls getaway to WDW instead?

I wish I could, but there is no one to go with. It would be more likely to have a solo trip. My mil can't fly, my mom is going to Colorado in October and won't want to go on a trip so soon, my sister is a work-a-holic and couldn't take off work, one sil works too much and is raising her grandson, another sil is crazy and I'm not comfortable around, the last sil.....well I would never step foot on Disney property than go any where or talk to her. It looks like I'll have to wait until we don't have a kid in wrestling to go on my birthday.

We are finally all booked flights were a steal (under $200) and now I am just waiting on the car rental prices to come down since we need a minivan :cool1:

BWV pool/garden view
1/16 to 1/23

:welcome: & added That was a great deal on the flights!!

We'll be in WDW January 6th through the 12th and we're tentatively staying at AoA in a Little Mermaid room. Woot! :cool1:

Add me to the list, I just hope I don't jinx myself...

I'm tentatively planning a trip Jan 2-12 for our anniversary. It's possible that I might have to cut it shorter, but for now I'm shooting for the moon. We at least have to be there on Jan 9 for our Be Our Guest ADR. Maybe I'll just fly out there by myself in order to go?:rotfl2:

DH seems to be on board, but we're waiting on a few life situations to sort themselves out before we can truly commit to anything.

EDIT: I guess I should add that we're not sure where we're going to stay yet. The goal is the Wilderness Lodge, but if we end up at a moderate I'm hoping for Port Orleans. We'll be booking with a military discount, so I MIGHT be able to convince DH to do something a bit more pricey under the guise that we may never get another 40% off again. A split stay might be on the table.

Hopefully, you'll be able to meet your WL goal. I have loved it there since our October 2006 stay. I wanted to stay there are our last trip, but the DH wouldn't go for it unless I gave up the DlxDDP. Since we'll have more time to save for the trip, it's on my short list for our June 2013 trip.

Those that are eating at the new BOG restaurant will have to give me all the details after their trips. I would love to eat there when we go next June, but wonder if I want to eat there for lunch or dinner.

Guess I might as well join the party.

Going to be at WDW 1/6-1/11 and staying at AoA in a Little Mermaid room! :)

This is going to be my second WDW trip in January. Went in '08 and was freezing most of the week. Hope it's a bit warmer this time around (I love jeans and flips flops weather with a jacket in the morning and evening).

I'm hoping for warm weather too, because I want to try the Water Parks for the first time. The weather when we went in 2009 wasn't bad, but I'm not sure it was Water Park worthy.
It was cool in the mornings and the evenings with warmer days, but it probably didn't break 80 degrees all week.

I thought they closed the water parks this time of the year for refurbs.

I went late Jan this year and we definitely had water park worthy days! We did pools, Splash and Kali and loved it. However the week before my friends were in gloves/hats so you never know.

We too will add TL (or maybe even Discovery Cove) if it looks like really warm weather.

I actually prefer cooler weather (70s are great for me) but I'm hoping to have one good water park day during my January trip too.
