January 2013 Discounts

Received a room-only PIN code today, unfortunately cannot use it. It is a pretty typical 25% off mods and 30% off deluxe for dates up to Dec 22.

Wish I could use it but we are looking for Jan dates. But I thought others would like to know - this is the first (I think) I've seen anything about a room-only discount for the fall through Dec (unless I missed something)...

Just booked our flight!!! :D we're leaving Denmark 12/20, arriving at MCO just after midnight! And then our Orlando vacation begins.... We'll be visiting Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Tampa, St. Augustine and Daytona Beach ;)

Have a MYW package from 12/30-1/5 at AOA! But we will actually stay at WDW until our flight home 1/7 - but couldn't extend our stay at LM AOA... Will try to call again! I have to call anyway since my Grandma and my cousin desided to join us....

Hoping for FD or RO discount... So I might change resort and/or do a split stay! I'm hoping and crossing my fingers for FD from 1/1 or 1/2 - so if I'm lucky I'll do a RO at AOA from 12/30 until FD start and then a MYWP at AOA (if the LM rooms are included) - or maybe ASmo or FQ (to get the DDP instead of the QS) :D

COME ON DISNEY!!! Release the discounts so that I know if I'm dealing with FD, RO or no discount at all! Then I have to skip the QSDP and all of my TS ressies! :o

As a European, can't you book through the DIsney international website? They already have a bunch of deals up.

Currently booked at AoA with an airline employee room only discount 12/29 - 1/7. Would love to switch to POR and do free dinning half way through...fingers crossed. pixiedust:

Actually I had no idea that I could book it through the international site! I thought it was UK only... But now I know! Thanks ;) yay! The only "problem" is that I can't get the FD at Value resorts which was what I wanted...
But I'm considering staying at the Old Key West with the free DDP :D it's just about $3000 with 7-day hopper tickets, free dining (1qs/1ts/1snack) and 6 nights.... (3 adults/1 11-yo)

But I'm kind of in a dilemma!!!! We have a reservation at AOA and I was just able to extend (finally!!) our it so we stay 12/30-1/7... the cost for 8 nights, 5-day tickets and QSDP is $3500!
I tried to remove the dining plan, but was told by the CM that I couldn't!? The CM i spoke with last time said I could remove/add just as I wanted,.. Is it right that I can't remove it?? I'll try calling again in the next few weeks :p But if FD dosen't match my dates, I'll pay OOP instead of the dining plan....

I'm now waiting till 10/1 to see if I'm lucky to get FD from 1/1 at AOA LM (Or ASMu), cause then I'll go with the value resort! :)

- but it's hard to compare the price of those two....
Deluxe studio vs. Value
DDP vs. QSDP
7day hopper/water park, DQ vs. 5day
6 nights vs. 8 nights

Hmmm.... Any advices and thoughts are appriciated!!!! :D

Not sure about how it will measure out with everything you are looking at, but I can say that if you get FD and go with a Value, you can upgrade from free quick service to 'free' regular for about $12/day/adult and about $4/day/child. That might be worth factoring if table service meals are important to you.

^^ That's usually what we do.

Can you believe we've been here waiting since APRIL!!!!!!!???????

Yea... I've thought about that too! ;) that's what we are going to do, IF free dining comes out and matches my dates!....

So I've decided to just relax (which is really hard! :p ) and wait and see untill October, wheater or not we can use the free dining :D

Just another question... Lets say FD comes out and the start date is 1/6, can I then get free dining for my entire stay, if I check in 12/30 and check our after 1/6!?? I've heard it works the other way around, if FD ends on 1/6 and I check in on that day...?

Thanks again all of you!! Your help is really appriciated!!! :D

I think it only works the other way around. If you check in during free dining, you get it the rest of the time, but if it starts after you've checked in, you'd have to make 2 different reservations to get it.

This is correct.

2013 upgrades are adult non peak $18.01/child $2.84 & peak adult $19.36/child $3.84. Still worth it though.

day 38 of discount watch... while food rations are ample and the water supply is stable, moral is reaching a low. hope seems to be waning among the troops. hours of combing the web for news has lead to a severe drop in coffee supplies and overstock of dirty laundry. i've made note to restock the coffee supply early. my refresh button finger is weary and i long for the sweet relief of a heavy room discount or better yet, free dining. only the disney bean counters will know when this will end.:sail:

ooh...good to know! I should've double checked before posting. Thanks for the correction and heads up :thumbsup2

Right there with you. I refuse to book before I know what I'm paying, it's getting very frustrating. I hope the wait is worth it.

I am also with you. And I am also watching for friends. In the meantime I have been looking at off-site hotels since it is looking very much like that is what we will be doing if Disney doesn't announce free dining soon. I have run my numbers every which way from Tuesday and unless there is some sort of discount it really, really, REALLY doesn't pay to stay on property for 14 nights.

i made my ressies already, i just need to know if i have to move a few days around here or there. if i have to do that, i'd like to have enough time to switch up the TS ressies i've got. i may even have to move around our flights. i can't do that if everything is booked solid because it's december when they decide free dining sounds like an awesome offer. ;)

i'd kinda like to be able to just pay this off and put the final nail in the "when are we going and what are we doing?" coffin. i'm SO close to being done planning. i feel like i should be crawling around a deserted island beach with vultures circling overhead, breathlessly panting "just...need... free..dining.... must get... cheaper than rack rate..." :rotfl:

You had me in tears from laughing!!!
C'mon free dining! I've made two ADRs, ohana and biergarten (which my phone keeps wanting to autocorrect to bier fatten?!) but I'd we get FD, there are others we'd love. I'm thinking at this stage of the game, my longtime desire to eat in the castle is dead. :( I just can't pay the price OPP, esp since I have boys, and they only agreed to it grudgingly.
