I've been trying all the tricks to get a pin and I thought it paid off when I got an email last night from Disney Destinations... they see I have saved packages, and gee wouldn't I just like to book a vacation... but NO PIN!

I know we're going. I know the dates. I have my ADRs. I just hate the idea of booking without some kind of discount, especially since I'm willing to adjust my travel dates if it will make a big difference in the price. Just have to keep watching for some kind of announcement.

I'm afraid if I actually BOOK one of my saved packages it will decrease my chances of a PIN...is that silly?

Are they typically busy over race weekends??

Not silly at all, I was thinking the same thing but then I decided to book so I would at least get the AAA discount if nothing else came out.

I got a pin! Stay/Play/Dine... But the dates are only 11/1 thru 12/22 [blackout thanksgiving week] AND they don't have any suites at ASMu in early December so it wouldn't work for us even if I was willing to change my dates.. Now I'm worried I won't get another pin!

Is that with the FCY pin (for moderates) published on another thread? Or is it not a pin you can share? I am thinking about December now.

It's one that can't be shared.

The pin was actually sent to DH, and when the CM looked it up she immediately asked if "MR. XXXXX" would be traveling too because the reservation would have to be in his name since he is the one that got the pin.

I would share it if I could!!!

Subbing. I've got a business trip in January (MLK weekend) that is at the Ritz Carlton. If I can get a good pin to stay at a Deluxe on-site, we'll just do that so my wife and kids can use the Disney transportation. DW doesn't like driving in Orlando without me.

I'm hoping this works out. Last time I had a business trip in Orlando, I got a pin for a massive savings on Deluxe resorts. The discount was so good I got to stay in a MK view room at the CR for the same price as the convention hotels were going for! That's what I'm hoping for this time as well!!!!!

It's our first trip so we'll still stay onsite - would just be a whole lot better with a discount. LOL

You can book with AAA discount now for 2012.

We don't have AAA because our regular car/home insurance covers roadside assist, etc.... is it worth paying for AAA if the primary use is a WDW discount?

You would have to check the numbers. How much would AAA cost for a year? I've heard sometimes there are a certain number of rooms set aside for AAA rates, and once they are gone, they are gone.

I've been a member of AAA for 20 years. I love it because I get discounts on other things, shopping, tickets, etc. as well as the roadside assistance. So for me, it is worth it.

Right now I have AAA rate on my room at Pop (only 10% off) but you bet I'm crossing my fingers to get a better GP rate.

Subbing too...already booked for 1/27-1/31,just a long weekend this time but it will be my parents first trip. Hoping for a really nice room discount, either General public or n annual pass discount.
