January 2011!!

Room for some more in the January club :yay:

We're going 1 Jan - 23 Jan - 1st-12th in Pop Century, 3 nights in Clearwater then back to the Magic for the remainder of our hol at POR, sooooooo can't wait :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm doing the Half, never done one before, excited and scared all at the same time. DH doing the marathon :worship:

Never been in January before so hoping the weather will be good, coming from the UK though anything above freezing will be a bouns ;)

Just booked my flight on JetBlue! First trip w/o the kids!! I'm so excited!
We'll be there the January 20th-23rd at BWV.
:cool1::woohoo::cheer2::yay:

I'll be there January 1st - 9th.
With a 5 day cruise on the Magic in between... JANUARY 3- 8

We'll be at OKW Jan 21-28. It will be me, DH, DS8, DS5, my parents and my in-laws. You'd think my DH would be used to my obsessive planning after more than a decade of Disney trips with me, but he still rolls his eyes when he's sees me on the DIS this far out from our trip!

We will be in WDW January 9-15. We are staying offsite. We will visit MK, EP, and then USO and IOA. We haven't been to Universal in 15 years and I have a 6 year old grandson who likes Harry Potter. I am a long term planner and I have a disney spreadsheet that is at least 15 tabs of info. Tour plans, where the characters are, tips, etc. Here are two things my grandson especially liked about our trip two years ago:

Fairy godmailer and a countdown chain.

Fairy godmailer is a pay it forward deal on disboards (search for it) where you ask someone going before you to send a postcard from Mickey or whoever to your child. Then you volunteer to do the same for someone else. It's a wonderful treat for the kids.

The countdown chain is a paper chain like you make for a Christmas tree with each loop representing one day. I made one with 30 loops and hung it up in the kitchen. Each day my grandson got to take one of the loops off, so he could SEE the amount of time before our vacation. Young children don't have any concept of time so this is great for them. He just loved it and asked me to do it again this time.

I hope this info will prove useful to some of you. Happy planning!

We are booked for the CR (Theme Park View) Jan.28th - Feb 4th !! So excited about staying at the CR.. Last 2 trips we stayed at the POFQ and loved it!

Just finished booking our airfare for or trip jan. 1- Jan. 9th. We are staying off-site with our entire family (all 12 of us!). This trip can't get here soon enough.

We haven't booked our flights yet (flying from Buffalo to MCO), but I've found what I think are good flights for our dates on JetBlue - $89 each way, $860 for all four of us, including cancellation insurance. Times are great, and I want to book. My husband, however, wants to wait to see if the price comes down (they're at $69 for October). What do you think - are they really going to drop lower?

Jan

JanuaryF -we went last January on JetBlue and after the flights first came out, the price never went lower. I would book now so you don't have to play the waiting game. If they do go down, then you have that much credit toward your next Disney trip!!:thumbsup2

We are going to start the drive from Indiana on 1/21 after picking up DD(2)& DS (7) at school. We aren't telling them anything and are just going to start driving. Should arrive at POFQ on 1/22 (hubby's birthday) and have Le Cellier booked for that evening. My birthday is 1/23 and I already have Cindy's table booked. I'm sooooo excited, and it's soooo hard not to tell everyone! Can't wait to see the look on the kids' face when we tell them we are going NOW!

How exciting. I can never keep it a secret.

So they announced that MSEP was extended. Here's hoping that it's staying around for a while. I saw it at DL in 1990 (my 1st Disney trip) and want to see it again so badly.

Just booked Poly (Garden View) for Jan. 21-29!!!! We love going in January!
:banana::cheer2:

We did Poly last year in January during the record cold. Hope the landscape has recovered!

BTW, Jey, we live only about 30 min. from you! It's a small world after all!

Count us in, too! :banana: We will be there 1/6 thru 1/13 at CBR! Our ds is running the 5k, I'm running the half, and dh is running the Goofy! Can't wait. We haven't been to Disney since May '07.

Quick question. If they do offer the 4/3 deal or something similar, what are the requirements usually? In other words, do you have to book a room AND buy park tickets? Just curious. (I assume the 4/3 means stay 4 nights/get three free.)

Ok - normally "I told you so" is very satisfying, but not so much in this instance. We booked our flight on Friday, and the price had gone up to $94 each way, so we paid $40 more. Oh well... :rolleyes:

On a happy note, though, we made our ADRs on Friday as well, and got everything we wanted! YIPEE!!

So a new question - my daughter turns 7 our first day in the parks (we're going to MK). We are thinking of either Hoop-Dee-Do or 1900 Park Fair with Cinderella. Which would you pick for a birthday celebration...?

Happy Planning!
