January 2011 car rental

Just booked Alamo on their website for 1/29 to 2/5 for a minivan with the code 7014667 and $40 coupon on mousesavers.
Total with taxes is $156.61!
Very happy with it, thanks for all the advice on here!

I am trying to do this same thing, but my rate is $315. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? :confused3

Quoting myself because I think I figured out one reason it's not as low. The $40 off expires on the 6th, and we need the minivan the 8th to the 16th.
Anyone know when February coupon codes will be out, if any at all?

I've been checking daily on minivan rates. I just got my 9 day minivan rental for 1/20-1/29 down to $190.30 using the code 7014667 and $40 coupon AD4027JDO. Both from carrentalsavers.com. I haven't seen that kind of rate in years!

That's great! I wish I could get mind down to that!! :cheer2:

Is there a National Coupon Code for more than $25 off? :confused3 (Besides the $35 off when using American Express - we don't have that card.)

Our dates are Jan 19th (10:30a) to Jan 23rd (2:30p). Right now I have Emerald Aisle for $131.85. Hoping to do a little better.

Thanks! :)

I have a $35 coupon code. ND8459DJK, but can't remember the origin. Maybe a Visa one. You can search on it to see. I'm using the entertainment coupon of $40 which requires a 10 day stay.

I can't seem to find a thread for February but the code I have a question about ends on Feb. 6 so maybe someone here could help?

I found a phenomenal rate but I'm a bit scared it's too good to be true.

We have a BJs wholesale club membership but we will not be staying over a saturday night so we used the BJs corporate ID but none of their coupon codes since none are valid without the Saturday night stay.

I did however find a coupon code (AD4027JDO) on mousesavers.com that is $40 off

So our grand total for a midsize car for a week with all the taxes is only around $92.

On Mousesavers, it says:
Go to the Alamo web site and use the coupon code AD4027JDO when booking. 5-day minimum rental. No physical coupon required. Valid on rentals picked up by 2/6/11, but holidays and other blackout dates may apply.
It says no coupon required but i'm a bit nervous about having to pay an extra $40 when we show up. Has anyone else used this code successfully?

Thanks so much for your help!

Just got back from our trip...using my codes we had a mid-size...there were two of us families that were surprised to see Jeep Patriots on the line up and we both snagged them up quickly. Very happy with those vehicles, and great gas mileage!

Wow, which company did you go with? We are an all jeep family so that would be a fun surprise for DH if we could snag one of those. Was that a mid-size car or mid-size SUV rate? TY

Alamo. That was in the mid size car isle...we ended up going from Jan 3rd-14th....we paid like $155 or within 5 bucks. We got $5 off because we turned it in a hour early.

Sounds great, we are booked with a mid-size rate with Alamo for early Feb so maybe we will luck out as well. Thanks for the info!

Awesome good luck! There were also some HHRs on the line as well, so your luck should be close to ours....HHR and Pats are a bit bigger than the regular Corrola or whatever they have...good luck! Our Pat was black so maybe you will get that one!

Alamo has a mid size car aisle? I thought only national had special aisles like the emerald aisle. This is great! I booked a mid-size for next week!

Its not Emerald Isle like...but once you book when you head into the car area....I was able to pick out any of the cars in the midsize listed isle.

I'm part of the INsiders club, and did all my check in in one of the kiosks. The Patriot is considered a Midsize vehicle as well as the HHRs and the Cobalts etc that I saw there, I just picked the car, entered and drove it out to the check out area.
