January 2010 at DL resort! Official thread....who's all going?

We are going the 18th & 19th!! Does anyone know when they take down the Christmas decorations?

Happy New Year!

All the Christmas decorations willbe gone by the time you get there except Its a Small World which goes down on Jan 19 so if you want to see it make sure you do it on your first day

Super excited Januarians!!!! SOme of us are already there and others will be there in days....including us:cool1::cool1:

Any other Januarians staying at the DLH next week????

Hope all of my fellow Januarians are having a grand time if they are in the 'Land!
We are slowly getting ready for our trip...
I pulled our suitcases out from under the house today and bought our park tickets on line. Anyone have any experience with etickets?
And I bought a deluxe AP! Yippee me! :dance3:
So... I confirmed our room reservations and our three PSsssssss, our flights look good (flying standby), mother-in-law is confirmed, brother and his DGF got time off granted and will be able to meet us, my mom is meeting us at LAX so we can drive down together.
Just watching the weather to see what we need to pack!
I can't believe it is right around the corner.
Can't wait to see our Januarian trip reports.
Aloha!

Going to be there with my sweetie from Jan 21 to the 25th. . .excited cause its his first trip there.

Hope that all teh Januarians at the Park are having fun!

Peginapound- Congrats on the AP! Now you'll have to start planning for your next trip once you get back! LOL

I plan to physicially start packing this weekend. Have been trying to catch up on laundry and been pulling out the kids summer clothes. I tend to over pack so I'm trying to avoid doing that. Does anyone know if there are self laundry facilities at the GCH?

One week to go for us!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkk!
Rain rain rain in the forecast!
:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Momofaprincess:
I think it is so funny that you are pulling out the kids summer clothes and I am scrambling to get "winter" clothes for our kids.
hehehe.
nursedarcy... i think we'll be there at the same time!
i really hope the weather forecast changes...
two weeks out is still meteorological voodoo... right?

Hello all my fellow Januarians:goodvibes We have been back for a couple days.
I will report here about our trip which was great!!! In a day or so. I have been veryyyyyyyyyyyyyy busy since we got home....trying to get kids ready for school which starts tomorrow and all the unpacking and getting our house in order:) We also came back to a sick dog:sick: (he will never stay at the kennel we left him at again!!!) I am taking him back to the vet today to see if the can find out exactly what in the world is going on with him.

I have alot to rerport including pictures!!! We stayed at the DLH and had a wonderful time!
I can say that we were there from 1/5/2010 - 1/8/2010 and that unlike some of the reports posted here on DIS boards about the 1st week of January looking to be one of the most busy times of the year with massive crwods predictions..........it was not and even with the Texas/Alabama game the crowds in my opinion were light and I know the DL resort hotels were only filled to about 30% capacity so they were giving offers on the day of your checkout to extend your stay at a rate of $129.00 per night seeing as how they were low.
We did stay in one of the newly renovated rooms at the DLH on the 8th floor with a pool view and I can say that the rooms are very beautiful and sophisticated! I will report on them as well when I check back in a day or so after I get everything around here situated and caught up on my work.

For all you Januarians that are there now I hope you are having a blast and I am sure you are! And for the Januarians that are set to go soon have wonder trips!!!:goodvibes

My family and I are going to DL from 1/22 to 1/27. It was a spur of the moment planning. We booked the DLH and are really excited. Well DH and I are anyway. DD (11) and DS (5) have no idea yet! DH is going to be in Arizona the week before on business and the kids think that we will be going to visit him there. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they figure it out. It will be our first trip to DL. :D

My sons 12th bday was the 11th (today), mine the 25th so we are going in between.

Looking forward.

My family of 6 (Me, DH, DS-12, DS-11, DD-11, DD-10) will be there from 1/15-1/18. My birthday is the 15th and I LOVE spending it at DL! We will drive in late on 1/14, spend 3 full days at the parks and then head home on 1/19.

We are staying at the Desert Inn & Suites in their largest suite.

Hopefully we will miss the rain! According to the forcast today it will rain on 1/13 and start again on 1/19 with cloudy inbetween. Cloudy is a-okay with me! Just no rain please!

We'll be there at the same time! As for rain forecast, should I expect it to pour when it rains? Should I be packing the kids rain gear i.e. rain boots, umbrella's etc?

I've never experienced pouring rain while there, but it's certainly possible. We have had light rain on and off before though. You'll see some guests with DL rain ponchos, but we've always gone without. Many attractions are inside and lines are often covered as well. If you don't mind getting a little wet walking from one ride to the next, you'll be fine. We bring jackets/sweatshirts with hoods. I don't know how old your kids are, but mine wouldn't wear rain boots if I bribed them. Totally not cool. :cool2:

I always pack warm clothes for this time of year. It can be really cold in the morning and night as well. I can think of many January DL nights waiting for fireworks, bundled in three layers with gloves and scarves as well. Lots of DL coffee/hot chocolate consumed by my family! Then in the afternoon we'll be in t-shirts and jeans. It all just depends, so I plan for everything!!
